Worst Animal Crossing Game there is in my opinion.
Not alot of Holidays, all the Villagers share one house, bland and ugly. I don't think the game has any replay value at this point. City Folk tops it in every way.
I'm surprised most people here like CF better. That game is basically an inferior Wild World to me. Biggest reasons: city was a big disappointment and unlike WW, (obviously) not portable.
I thought nearly everyone loved WW, and that I was the only one here that disliked it! But yeah, I hated it. Every other AC game is way better, New Leaf being the best. All I remember from Wild Workd was that it just didn't feel nice to play and that acorns just got everywhere, with no way to clean them up except by cramming your pockets full and selling them all... yay...
Wild World was my first Animal Crossing game, and the only one that I'm really fond of. For me, what City Folk and New Leaf both lack is Wild World's presentation. Top screen is used to display the sky, which gives a clear view of weather, stars, time of day and so on, while the lower screen is used to display the villagers and the town that surrounds. It was an obvious design decision that made a world of difference in how immersive Wild World ended up being. Most people seem to have a problem with Wild World lacking in holidays, but I'm not one of those people that feels compelled to sit with any AC game to ensure I don't miss a holiday that I would much rather spend with my family. If I had any problem with Wild World, it's the issue that's in all AC games, punishment for lack of play by filling the town up with weeds. That needs to go, but after New Leaf, I don't think I'll have enough interest to pick up the AC game that may get rid of that feature.
I've got to say that the Gamecube one is still the best; the thrill of playing retro games in it was so awesome. After that it's New Leaf, City Folks and last is Wild World. I could never get into it as much and thought that the AC series just couldn't work on a portable. New Leaf proved that theory wrong.
If you want something done properly, kill Baldrick before you start.

Another thing: CF introduced the stupid grass erosion, which was unreasonably noticeable. They should just cut that out in the next one, and introduce some kind of grass trimmer and grass packet items instead so you can still make dirt paths. I'd also like to finally have an option to move/get rid of rocks (they've gotten in my way when I wanted to place a PWP or create a path several times- speaking of which, PWP placement better be less fickle next time). I digress.
I've only ever played AC:WW in terms of the series, and I found it rather dull. It just felt like a very underwhelming city/sim game. I mean, I played it a decent amount, but I don't ever recall enjoying it THAT much, and I don't feel compelled to go back to it at all.
I knew there was a dislike for City Folk and I can understand so, however there were several great things that made it my favorite Animal Crossing game.
For one, City Folk had a nice art style. It was colorful and bright. GCN and Wild World were rather standard and New Leaf took the art style a bit more realistically (as far as AC can go anyway).
Secondly, I had to share the game with my brothers and dad so I was happy to know that they changed AC in a rather new way where the 4 houses were scattered across town. In theory, New Leaf was better, having you pick exactly where you wanted your house, however to me the whole fun of Animal Crossing is making do with what you have, from your stores, to your neighbors.
Which brings me to an aspect I don't like too much in New Leaf. Everything in the game is babied down. It used to take hard work and determination to get rich, have enjoyable villagers catch good fish and bugs or even find nice furniture. Everything now seems so incredibly easy, it takes out some of the enjoyment and reward and made that clear by no longer having you to work for Nook at the very beginning. And, as if the game wasn't easy enough, you had the "Wealthy" and "Beautiful" ordinances, just in case getting rich and having a nice looking town wasn't easy enough. You don't even have to deal with Resetti in that game. If I wanted an incredibly easy life sim, I'd use cheat codes on The Sims. Not play Animal Crossing, where the whole point is to have long-term goals and to have the feeling of pride that comes from it.
