Topic: American Muffins or English Muffins?

You know, the bread items? I like English muffins better, for many reasons, including a certain dish called Eggs Royale.

I'm just gonna bite my tongue, instead.

Japanese muffins.

Seriously there isn't many sweets or junk food that the Japanese DON'T do better than the English or Americans. Typically it's not as rich or heavy as American sweets, and it's not as tooth-rottingly sweet as English sweets.

Japanese muffins are just... pleasant to eat.

"American" Muffins? Are we the only ones that have muffins? I did not know that, and somehow it just s sounds very strange and unlikely. We are talking about the things that get baked into their wrapper like cupcakes but are more bread-like and have a puffy top, right? Is there another type of muffin I don't know about?

As for Japanese Muffins... So you're saying it's some sort of candy rather than being bread-like like muffins or English Muffins?

Anyway... I usually spread peanut butter on my English Muffins. (That's for just snacking on those alone. In a breakfast situation, I would butter them and then make a sandwich with my eggs and sausage.) As for muffins, I like those too but I only eat poppy seed muffins. And I like the top better so I always flip it over and eat the bottom first.

Well, to our friends across the pond, English muffins would be just muffins, so what would you call "muffin" muffins? That's right: American muffins(I think ). Oh, and btw, Muffins shouldn't be baked in a "wrapper" - it softens the crust on the outside.

I personally don't really like english muffins, but they are all right with honey.

Agreed. That's not a MUFFIN. The round ones are the muffins i think were talking about.

I only know of the cupcake ones. I love the chocolate ones.

There's your paper tray baked Cupcakes, your tin caked Muffins, and then however these English Muffins are made.
However, most Muffins bought are in paper trays for health purposes. You can commonly tell apart a cupcake from a muffin by various things, icing, decoration, presentation etc.

I never understood American Muffins, it's just a cake case, with too much cake in it.

English Muffins however are sublime, especially with sausage or bacon and egg, zomg!

The ones they sell around here on the continent as muffins are the American ones made in paper cups. There's the normal ones and chocolate ones.

It's kinda confusing. It's like how, across the pond, crisps are chips and chips are fries, often called French Fries even though every educated person knows they were invented by the Belgians.

EDIT: Rensch Ever had breakfast at any fast food place? There breakfast stuff like bacon and egg muffins are on english muffins.

I never had breakfast at a fastfood restaurant so I'm not sure if they sell that stuff here. But I blieve they have the American ones there as a snack.
