My brother got me Marvel vs Capcom 3 Collector's Edition for PS3 for Christmas and got it off Amazon, the release date is February 15th, but the "Estimated Release Date" is February 18th. Anyone know how there game shipping works? Do they ship it like a day or 2 before the game comes out so you could get it on the launch date?

They ship it on release day, so you might get it a couple of days later depending on the shipping method and your location

Actually I got my copy of the Super Mario Anniversary collection on the release day. I checked the tracking progress and they shipped my copy out that Saturday before the release day. I also ordered World of Warcraft Cataclysm expansion from them as well and got it on the release date. For the Super Mario Collection I did the 3 day shipping and for WoW I did overnight. I did get an email from Amazon that I would get the Mario Collection on that Thursday but I got it on the day according to the tracking system by the Post office.

However in the end It depends on where you live though and your mail system.

Amazon's shipping is strange. I ordered Madden 11 yesterday using free shipping, which usually takes about 4-7 days to ship. But then I noticed a better deal an hour later and wantedto cancel my order, but it was already being prepared for shipment and shipped a few minutes later. They are predicting it won't arrive for another week even though I live in Mass and it is coming from NH.

When I preordered Metroid Other M, it still hadn't shipped 4 days after the release, and they lowered the price 5 dollars after release (which doesn't count for customers w/ preorders). Otherwise, it normally depends on your account and shipping preferences.

When I use free shipping I usually get my package 4 to 5 business days later.

Amazon guarantees brand new games will arrive on the release day if you preorder it. Great site. I opened a store credit card up for Christmas.... $2,000 limit so I have to avoid getting myself into trouble. They have some great trade-in values for games too -- better than anyone else. I rarely trade in games, but there were a few PS3 games I no longer needed that I made enough to buy something else for.

Do you have to pay extra, for shipping?

For example: if an Item is say, $40 bucks, and it takes a week to get to your house, Do you have to pay $10 or $20 dollers extra for delivery?

For you, the day LordJumpMad graced your threads, was the most important day of your life. But for me, it was Tuesday.

It usually depends on box size/weight. I bought a PC game for $17 and shipping was $4

If you choose release date shipping, on select games.

@JumpMad: If you spend 25 or 30$ (I can't remember which) you have the choice for free shipping, but it takes longer. When I order I usually choose free because the pay shipping takes about the same amount of time.

The few games I've preordered on Amazon have arrived EXACTLY on the release day when I paid the 99 cents for guaranteed release day delivery.
