Topic: Am I the only one that doesn’t find the lite more comfortable than the original?

Bought a switch lite last week. I can’t find a comfortable position for my little fingers to rest... keep getting cramped up. I don’t get this with the original. Am I the only one?!

I haven't tried a Lite yet, but my v2 Switch is ever so slightly less comfortable than my v1 Switch - the bottom of the flip-stand is just slightly more noticeable to my pinky that normally rests on it, my finger just kinda catches on it a bit more, to the extent that I sometimes force myself to alter my grip so my pinky rests elsewhere, but it's not really an issue, I can tolerate it.

You guys had me at blood and semen.

What better way to celebrate than firing something out of the pipe?

I tried a switch lite thinking I would like to buy one for travel. I had the same problem where it didn't feel balanced in my hand and led to my thumbs cramping to use the controls. That's why I'm just sticking with my OG switch

It would be interesting to see what QA testing they did for user comfort. In my mind, I do imagine the lite as being geared more towards the younger members of a family with smaller hands.

I can't use the Lite at all unfortunately. I have long fingers and even the regular size Switch is about at the limit of comfortability, using the lite my hands hurt after like 15 minutes.

The Switch is the first system that actually fits my hands (well as an adult), I'd be afraid to get a Lite for that reason alone.

@alpacatears Also keep in mind Japanese stature tends to be more diminutive than much of the world, so what seems comfortable to testers in Japan might really be the outliers in most of the world. But it's also clear they're gearing it more toward kids, given the marketing, so yeah, I can't imagine it'll be terribly comfortable to most western adult males.

Lite is the most comfortable handheld I've ever used in 30 years of portable gaming.

It makes the Switch feel like a 1990's brick cell phone in comparison. Heavy and clunky and creaky like an old wooden board.

@JaxonH I wouldn't go quite that far (although, having held a Sega Nomad recently, that pretty much is a 90's cell phone; it's a brick with buttons), but I do find the Lite to be a fair bit more comfortable, given I can actually wrap my hands around it (whereas the OG Switch in handheld mode is LOOOONG and tall and flat, making it uncomfortable for me to hold). The decrease in weight is even more important, though.

I still like and use my hybrid model at home, but I'll never play it primarily as a portable ever again now that I have my Lite. And I play all sidescrollers on my Lite automatically these days, regardless of where I am.

They both feel kinda the same for me, the lite however wins in the buttons and portability departments. It’s also significantly less creaky.

I use cases that add bumps in the back on both.

Though it’s not like it matters on the original switch because they joycon drift there just makes it impossible to play handheld. Maybe I’ll buy new joycons eventually.

I have pretty small hands, and I find the Lite infinitely more comfortable than the original.
I never liked playing the original in portable mode, I always propped up the screen in my lap and used a detached joycon in each hand.

Since i purchased the Lite, the original is permanently docked and I use the Lite for all my portable play.
