My t.v is like 10 years old and its big enough for my room y'know...im not talking like its a BIG plazma but just normal....not wide-screen or anything.
But anyway....everywhere i go....HD HD HD HD HD HD....guess what?....HD!!!!
I cannot afford a HD t.v....i honestly can't...
All my mates have one and it does feel very much like "ooh....i guess my family just isn't rich"....that sort of thing
Id love to know if anyone else has a standard t.v...and it displays my Wii and PS3 in good quality....thankfully..

My standard looks cool ok but when i look at the text on PS3 or Wii....keeps moving and is hard to read..

that's all we've got, two standard CRT TVs. i guess once one of 'em dies, we'll have to go HD because that's all they sell in stores anymore... no big deal. :3

I'm the first in my family to buy an HDTV...the living room TV and the on in my brother's room are both SD flat-screen tubes. HDTV's are actually getting pretty cheap nowadays, if you aren't trying to go HUGE. My 26" cost about $550 for a so-so model a year ago, and I'm pretty sure you could get a better one, same size, for the same price now. Granted, that's more than a tube the same size would be if you could still find one, but it's cheaper than it could be!
I hope for your sake you CAN upgrade sometime. I don't mean to be a jerk, but the PS3 really runs like crap on an SDTV...and I'm not the only one who thinks so. If you're used to it now and it isn't so bad you don't want to play it, you shouldn't be TOO concerned...comparison's the real female dog here since my brother also has a PS3 and watching him play it HURTS! Literally...it hurts my eyes with the flickering low-res picture. Ouch.
My Backloggery Updated sporadically. Got my important online ID's on there, anyway. :P
people get jobs and earn the money and buy the tv. i think that's how it goes but personally im fine with my standard baby killer! having a hd tv would be sick but come on....i play games from like 20-30 years ago i don't need that kinda stuff. But will admit, playing though Gears Of War 2 on my dads huge hd tv last Christmas was a religious experience.
It looks good and it doesnt like hurt my eyes lol Its just....an HD tv would be better

Actually, the TV in our living room was from when my parents got married. Heavy as h***, the picture is a little grainy and the colour is going, wood paneling even! It still works. And the TV in our TV room? Our third in 10 years.

Yeah, HD looks amazing and it displays more colors. I'm the same as you, I was the first in my family to get an LCD.
I'm lucky because my boss owns a pawn shop so I get good deals on TVs. The first LCD TV I bought from there was a 32" and it was $300. I eventually sold it to help pay for a piano. But I recently got another one that I had on layaway that is 46". The bigger screen LCD TVs at my work go the fastest, and usually the employees are the ones that put them on layaway the day they become available.
lol, but is there anyone out there who is also afraid to play Wii around their TV? I will seriously not play Wii Sports Resort or Punch Out in front of this.
Somebody set up us the bomb. Wii: 8703 7486 8875 3789 I love PWN3NG NintendoLife members on Tatsunoko :-)
I have a BIG SD and I personally don't mind if it isn't HD. Aslong as it works,I won't buy a HD(but who knows if my dad will buy one...).
I hear its amazing when the famous purple stuffed worm in flap-jaw space with the tuning fork does a raw blink on hari-kiri rock!!! I NEED SCISSORS!!! 61!!!
I think the Wii looks better on my SDTV than my HDTV because the HD is so much bigger. So there's that. HDTV's aren't getting to be that expensive compared to regular TV's anymore. However, I definitely would wait to buy one until an old TV dies.
I am way too lazy to think of something clever. My Backloggery
They have a 55 inch at wal mart for 1500. It's tempting, but I'm not completely sold on Vizio's yet. My uncle who works at wal-mart says a lot of people have troubles with them, but I've not heard any complaints first hand.
We've done fine up until now with our 29" CRT. Although just about everything is widescreen these days so it's not ideal. I think we'll upgrade soon if a nice deal comes along. But there's no big rush. Only a few people I know have one. But I'm glad I wasn't an early adopter. They've improved a lot in the last few years.
I got my 20" CRT Xmas 98 and remember showing off Zelda, F-Zero X and 1080 to my friends. 11 years on and its still going and Wii games still look better on this than on the 32" HD in the living room, although I would never play my PS3 on the old set. I'll upgrade to HD when Nintendo does I guess.
