Technically they weren't, but the only real difference is that they were actually published on a game console. They're noncanonical just like anything that was fan made.
@pokemon1989: My friend code isn't in my signature. Were you looking at Zephren's?
@Kainard: First of all, the CD-i games aren't part of the Zelda canon. Second, if you include those, you have to include every fan game ever released on the internet featuring Link as the main character. That fan-made film had Link as the main character, too, so I guess that's part of the series.
Well, no, that's completely wrong. The CDi games may not have been made by Nintendo, but they were authorized by Nintendo. Fan games/films are not authorized. Non-canonical =/= "Unofficial".

Agreed. Saying that the CDi games aren't zelda games is denying a part of history. It happened. Acknowledge is and move on. Sure the games are gigantic piles of horse crap, but they do exist. So yeah, 20 Zelda games.
FF6: Release year- 1994 Kefka's birthday - November 9th So.... my life is practically mirroring Kefka? Cool.

Okay, so where do they fit into the timeline? I understand that noncanonical doesn't mean unofficial, but it does mean they didn't happen. "Official" doesn't mean it's part of the main series. If the CD-i games are part of the series, then so are all the other spin-offs.
Just because the title says "Every Zelda ever made" doesn't mean it's the actual topic question. The OP is asking what you thought about the Zelda games. If you haven't played the CDi games, there's not much point in counting them, now is there?
@Rift They're not part of the elusive timeline. That's what "non-canonical" means. They are not spin-off games (though an argument could be made for Wand of Gamelon, since you play as Zelda instead of Link), they are Zelda games.
Comic Book Guy: That was part of an imaginary tale, it never really happened. Bart: None of this stuff ever really happened. Comic Book Guy: ... Comic Book Guy: Get out of my store!
From my understanding the CD-i games were authorized by Nintendo with a deal between Nintendo and Philips. Also from what I have read they do not fit into the time line of any of the Zelda games but they are Zelda games neverless.

For the most part I like the Zelda games alot. I have played most of them most of the ones I missed are the hand held ones with the exception of Links Awakening. Of course I cant play the ones that use the cartoon Link mainly cause I just cant get into those games due to the horrible graphics. I have yet to play Twilight Princess as well due to the fact that I dont know if I want to get it on the Gamecube or the Wii. But over all its one of my favorite series and has been since the day I put a gold cartridge into my NES.

@the_shpydar: The CD-i games aren't spin-offs? Okay, that makes more sense now. I always assumed they were since they're not unofficial, yet they're not part of the main series, either.
The 2D games are fantastic. The 3D games are good, but none of them accurately represent traditional Zelda games. Twilight Princess came really, really close, and based on what Nintendo has been saying I think Skyward Sword will close the gap.
