So my friends and I decided to start having these disgusting gaming marathons that go on all night. We play through a game or a series in one sitting and for all one-player games we trade off, but we have been real big on multiplayer games for a while. Anyway...

Things we have done.:
-Ocarina of Time (2x on it's own)
-Majora's Mask
-Windwaker
-Twilight Princess
-Four Sword Adventures (4 players)
-A failed attempt at OoT and MM in one night
-Donkey Kong Country 1, 2 and 3
-New Super Mario Bros Wii (4 players)
-Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles (4 players, and we had to get together multiple times for this one)
-Beatles Rock Band

Anyway, this a tradition that we have and I highly recommend you try it! Has anyone else done this kind of thing?
Also, I would like to talk about suggestions for future possible marathons. What games do you think would be good for this kind of thing?

Ahh I miss having gamer friends. Do you guys get pizza as well? I don't know anyone who games, but I am currently on the lookout.

Somebody set up us the bomb.

Usually chinese lol

We are all at school during the year, but when the breaks come along, we always make sure to save one night

Have you considered the Metroid Prime games? That could be fun

That's actually a great idea! Good thing the trilogy was just released, of course doing all three would be pretty much impossible since that would probably take upwards of 70 hours. Thanks though, great suggestion.

^^3 day weekend.

Never done complete all nighters with video games (though did some fairly late ones back in high school, and of course, the obligatory drunken MKWii/Guitar Hero sessions). I remember one time we had like 20 people playing Risk. We attached 4 boards together, played for like a weekend. We never finished the game though. Pretty ridiculous.

I am way too lazy to think of something clever.

that sounds pretty epic, probably difficult to keep track of everything right?

with video games, sadly no. My house is not big enough to really host gaming parties. I did go to a friends house and play random board games all night though. There are some games that can take upwards of 10 hours sometimes. Usually it was the obscure German board games and most of the time was spent with the one guy who knew German to interpret the rules. The rest of the night was spent making fun of each other and generally joking around. Not to mention trying to cheat at the game and saying "whoops, I guess I just didn't know that rule" when everyone at the table knew that you did, simply because it was explained before hand. Then we would call each other cheaters and, again, make fun of each other. I need to set something up with some gamer friends. Problem is, most of my friends have moved since then and all I have is the same group, but online to talk to. I need to go make new friends!

You don't need a big area to do it, especially if you aren't going to be moving around much! I've had gatherings of 4-5 people in some pretty small rooms. And yeah, I would imagine board games are difficult to do just because it's so easy to cheat lol

But yeah, the joking around is definitely one of the best things about doing it. A true bonding experience...

I just got a good idea for a marathon too

How about a 100% play through of Majora's Mask...

I've dona an all-nighter once. Alone, getting all the S Ranks in Sonic Heroes (was it S Ranks in Heroes? It's been so long since I played it now) and completing Super Hard mode. I guess that counts as a preeetty low point on the social ladder, but it was kinda fun
I said that Sonic Heroes is fun please don't shoot me.

In my younger days, I'd do that with Pen and Paper rpg's. We'd get around 5-7 players, order a Big Foot pizza from Pizza Hut (anyone remember those?), get some snacks, a few 2 liters of (heavily) caffeinated soda and have a blast!

I've done an all-nighter of gaming before. Played Halo 3 with a few friends (Two were at my house and there were two others we played with online). Played until about 6 in the morning. Should do it more often it was really fun, need more friends who are big on games. Still, Good times

Halo 3 sounds like a good one. The online thing makes it even easier! Can't really do that with any nintendo games though lol

Wow. I feel so young lol. I can't get into those kinds of things, but I like any kind of rpg's now

We're there a lot of arguments with all of the freedom you had in the game?
