Hey there folks!

My name is Will, and I am simply looking for some advice, so if you could spare a moment, any advice would be appreciated.

Basically, I am going to be 31 years old this year, I have a Wife and two children, one of which is old enough to play videogames, and a few pets. All my life I have been a gamer, since 3 years of age. I am, and will forever be a Nintendo Kid, since my Dad bought me an SNES when I was a kid, I have been a Nintendo Kid.

That being said, I strayed off during the release of the original Wii, into the Sony and Microsoft World, since all my friends had, and I currently park my gaming chair there and have since they launched, but I find now, I simply do not have the desire to play these types of games any longer, yet my friends still do, and they want to play online with me, but I have no desire. Games nowadays are commitments, they are not a simple enjoyable story and for someone with a job, Wife, children and pets and a home to provide for I am just too busy for them.

The only place you are able to find simple, fun and enjoyable games is Nintendo. I admire them because they have always marched to the beat of their own drum, no matter what, and with Amiibos, the 3DS being amazing, and the Wii U holding strong, plus the NX, now seems the perfect time to jump, but something seems to be stopping me. I'm not sure if it's because literally almost NONE of my real life friends have NIntendo platforms, and I would feel "not connected", but that being said, none of them have families yet, or are still single so we are in different lifestyles.

Basically, has anyone ever lost interest in hardcore games, and decided to back away? If so, why and how were you able to accomplish this? Is Nintendo your only platform? Please elaborate, any advice would be appreciated!

Thank you!

Well I don't know about Nintendo being my only console but this gen I have found myself playing my older consoles alot more most the Genesis and Dreamcast. I find the games are just fun on those old consoles. Today's games take themselves too seriously with deep storylines and realistic game play that at times it sucks the fun out of them for me.

So yeah its not unheard of what your ate going through. The thing you have to keep in mind is game is an invest and can be an expansive one too so buy the system that you will enjoy the most. Don't worry about what's hip now as long as you are having fun that's all that matters.
