I'll take too easy over too hard any day! I once managed to get to Mother Brain in the original Metroid. She killed me and I respawned at the planet's entrance with a lousy 35 energy. I turned it off at that point, and haven't been back. Zero Mission is awesome, though.
Besides all that, I don't think that Super Metroid is too easy. But like I've said, I'm not much of a needless challenge-seeker. I want my games fun, not hard, and I find there are very few games that manage to be both.
Haha, that is harsh. Regaining your health isn't hard though, just time consuming. Find one of those rooms with two bee pipes (whatever those things are that emit infinite bee-like enemies) and kick back for awhile.
It's a huge flaw in the game, I know, but I don't think there is a perfect Metroid game. The series could really use a Symphony of the Night equivalent, an absolutely huge game with challenging but fair difficulty. Gosh I love that game.
Super Metroid is a game that was much more fun as a kid. Whenever I replayed it last, I can't remember dying anywhere except maybe Ridley and the ghost boss, and even then just once or twice. I am not really a "needless" challenge seeker, either, but I think challenge is needed for some games, particularly this one, in order to make you feel like you are alone and endangered.
Also, Zero Mission was pretty fun, and Hard Mode was a most welcome addition, but I hated being shown where to go. It flies in the face of everything Metroid.

May I ask why it's always black people? Is it some sort of meme I've never heard of? Or is it only funny when black people do it (like swearing)? Can someone post up a video of a white person eating popcorn?
The old image was Michael Jackson. Plus, "black" isn't what he's going by now. It's African-Am... well, white.
