The news from the recent Nintendo direct episodes have included everything from Nintendo but Metroid. It just angers me how Nintendo has ignored the Metroid series since Other M. Other M is a great, near perfect game with nonstop fun. Sure those new Luigi updates mentioned sound neat and the awesome Zelda news, but Metroid has been left in the severe, artic cold. There was one thing about Metroid mentioned in Valentine's day Nintendo direct, NOTHING! I know that Metroid blast is there, but no single new Metroid title! The wii u gamepad can bring many possibilities to a Metroid game. The HD visuals would also be impressive for Metroid. Especially after Metroid other m's eye-popping cinematics. I long for a new Metroid game. Maybe team ninja or (hopefully) retro studios will come back and make something new for Metroid. In the mean time, my anger "phazon" will continue to "corrupt" me. At least other pleasing Wii U and 3DS titles "PED suit" will stabilize my "corrupt" conditions...
Metroid is my favorite video game series however, Metroid is not a big seller for Nintendo. I'm sure one will come it is just not a big priority for them.
To blessed to be stressed.
80's music makes me feel fabulous.
What Would Duane Do? Rynoggery
Every E3 I'm hoping for a new Metroid (to erase Other M from my subconcious), F-Zero, or Starfox with the latter two desperately needing new entries in their respective series.
You know its odd to see Kirby getting loads more games in the past couple years, when prior he was basically "just another Nintendo series."
They're probably just taking a short break from the series after the mixed reception and lacking series of Other M. Bet it turns out a new Metroid game will be revealed at either this year's or next year's E3.
It took almost 25 years (more like 20) for a new Kid Icarus game to come. Consider yourself lucky
Yeah, I'd expect another 8 year series hibernation before we get another shot in the Metroid saga. And I'm not saying this to lower expectations mind you
Have you played it? In my opinion, Metroid Blast has as much, if not more, replay value going for it as most of the Metroid Series. I'm actually getting tired of Metroid fans whining about not hearing or seeing a thing regarding a new Metroid when they haven't touched Metroid Blast.
but Metroid has been left in the severe, artic cold.
Good thing samus can survive in the cold.
I love the metroid series, and I agree that metroid in HD would be awesome. Hopefully Nintendo is working on making another Metroid title right now

If you think Metroid is cold, think about Starfox and F-Zero. Those have been left alone WAY longer than Metroid.
Breaks my heart that Nintendo finally has an HD system and were getting a Mario kart instead of fzero. Hope we get wipeout at the PS4 event.
Who said they're not releasing both? Why does it have to be one or the other?
Exactly. They released F-Zero GX and MK: Double Dash on GCN in the same year. They're both worth a buy at the same time. I'd actually rather have F-Zero than Mario Kart, especially since F-Zero is just faster and more 'extreme', and we haven't had a new one in a while. One of the main appeals of MKWii is multiplayer, trick boosts, online, and bikes. DD had 2 racers, improved the graphics, and had muliplayer too. I'm sure MK will be great for everyone, but F-Zero really does gain interest from the more 'core' audience IMO. Every Xbox/PS only owner I know always looks at those being the best games from Nintendo besides Smash Bros. IMO, I don't think Wipeout is as good because of just looking generic, and no color.

Nintendo is ignoring Metroid because Other M did bad in sales. I wouldn't be surprised if we never saw Metroid until 5-10 Years where they make "Super Duper Metroid" or whatever it will be called.
Perhaps if Retro was interested in bringing back the series, Nintendo would give them the word of approval but for now, we're probably going to see a big break from Samus.
