I wouldn't say most of the time, more like some of the time. And we get all 1st party Nintendo stuff free and normally ahead of time, like we did Wii Sports Resort. That saves me a lot of money right there.
Only the established writers usually get the free stuff. New reviewers will occasionally have a game gifted to them, but not very often and rarely get any of the free retail stuff.
Well, I have school, so I'm not sure I'd have time to do reviews. And, like I said, I can't get wii points when I need them, so I doubt I could be a reviewer.
If this thread were a kite, someone just let go of the string. EDIT: Just to add value here. Check out Tails86's thread. He wrote up a review of The Conduit and he got some ink out of it. Good start for him, sounds like he didn't need to make a committment, either. Good luck!
As I said, put your reviews everywhere you can. That's how someone found me years ago. Happened to see some stuff around the internet and hired me on. And then it's just working your way around until you find the situation that you like and works best for you. Only took me about 8 years, but I found a great gig.

Speaking of that, when's the reader review functionality going to be ready?
