I wouldn't say most of the time, more like some of the time. And we get all 1st party Nintendo stuff free and normally ahead of time, like we did Wii Sports Resort. That saves me a lot of money right there.

So, what if someone couldn't pay? Would you buy games for them?

SonicMaster carries a cardboard sign that says "will write for food GAMES."

Only the established writers usually get the free stuff. New reviewers will occasionally have a game gifted to them, but not very often and rarely get any of the free retail stuff.

Well, I have school, so I'm not sure I'd have time to do reviews. And, like I said, I can't get wii points when I need them, so I doubt I could be a reviewer.

If this thread were a kite, someone just let go of the string.
EDIT: Just to add value here. Check out Tails86's thread. He wrote up a review of The Conduit and he got some ink out of it. Good start for him, sounds like he didn't need to make a committment, either. Good luck!

I'm gonna practice my reviewing skills all summer, then save the best review to a text document, and then submit it when NL needs reviewers

As I said, put your reviews everywhere you can. That's how someone found me years ago. Happened to see some stuff around the internet and hired me on. And then it's just working your way around until you find the situation that you like and works best for you. Only took me about 8 years, but I found a great gig.

Speaking of that, when's the reader review functionality going to be ready?

Ant is working on it as we speak. And use GameFaqs as well. That's one of the best places to get your reviews out there.

Do you know when he'll be done?

Only Ant knows when he'll be done. And he's not telling.

Maybe I'll just ask my mom if I can get a blog to review games and whatnot. And who knows, you just might be able to check out my mad writing skillz!

If you do create a blog, let us know the URL. I'd like to see it.

Thanks! I don't know if or when I'll make one. My first review would be something like Pulseman. BTW, how come you haven't updated your game blog?

Just no time right now. Putting every second of free time in on here. I might update it this weekend.

Do you stay up all night working on the site?

Oh, and if I get one, you can bet I'll use my Real Sonic background!

Pretty much, at least during the Summer. The other guys are in the UK so we always try to have someone manning the site at all times when possible.

Slip me a black shield and I got your back.

...what, no black shields?
