Hey guys, I'm getting Nintendo Points for my birthday, and being from Australia, I need to know what state I should tell the Wii I'm getting the points from that'll cost me the least tax, as it doesn't seem to care that my billing address doesn't actually exist in real life, but will tax me if I get it from the wrong state!
So guys from America/Canada, where do you get your points from?
Hmm. Well a lot of people around my region set their country to Brazil. It does the fewest checks, I think. If you buy points via credit card it only asks for a post code, and there's nothing about taxes involved AFAIK.
He has to pay for them, and in Australia, what you buy you have to pay tax on.

It's like, I just love a cowboy
You know
I'm just like, I just, I know, it's bad
But I'm just like
Can I just like, hang off the back of your horse
And can you go a little faster?!
NC now collects sales tax on points, so don't say you're from here, lol. may want to give North Dakota a try and see how you fare :3

NY taxes on everything including points.. I wish I thought about it before and wrote some other address, although it is actually fraud...
So ends a saga older than time itself. The World's oldest and fiercest army has been led to victory, and a lost generation is delivered from its fear of extinction. As the sun sets over the field of conflict the dinosaurs disperse, hoping never to set foot in this place a...

I grew up there when I moved to NC from SoCal in the 5th grade and graduated from Seventy First High School on Raeford Rd. I'm glad to be rid of that place but I do have a few good memories. We still visit family there ocassionally.
hahaha, we live so close to 71st it's not even funny. i gotta say there's a lot of schools scattered throughout Fayetteville; in Kissimmee/St. Cloud and Orlando they were much more spread out than this. yeah, thread derailed due to lack of PMs D:

When i pay $20 to get a points card, i always get a penny back. I thought they only taxed microsoft points.
So here in Wisconsin, I used to always buy point cards because apart from wanting my credit card number to travel through the interwebs as little as possible, if I got points through my Wii I'd be taxed and if I went to the VG store a few blocks from work I'd get that penny back. I've stopped getting that penny back; they're taking the taxes out now. I think wherever you're picking up your points cards, turtlelink, just hasn't realized yet that they're not supposed to treat them like gift cards..
But anyways it also matters, not just what state, but where in the state. I'm in Dane county but I'm pretty sure, say, Milwaukee county has additional sales taxes to help pay for the Brewers stadium. But I guess it's all moot if there's five states out there that don't have any sales tax.
What is a man? A miserable little pile of secrets!
