Ten years ago our nation, the blessed United States of America, Land of the Free and the Home of Brave, witnessed first hand the darkness that is the face of evil. Our country was senselessly attacked by the devious devices crafted by the troubled mastermind of Osama Bin Laden.
I remember where I was that day. I was in my fathers office in the Criminal Justice Building at the Albany State University campus in Albany, GA and I was surfing the web when all of a sudden the internet crashed and the only web page that was available was a CCN Breaking News update page with a white background and a photograph of the Twin Towers with smoke billowing from them. Needless to say I was quite confused and shocked as I was only twelve at the time.
However, the documentary 9/11 Ten Years Later that just finished airing on CBS this evening on the East Coast has really helped me to see how solemn and tragic this event really was. I truly love this nation of America and my heart has really been touched by the suffering and sacrifice of the New York Fire Department and of all those everyday, ordinary, simple citizens who stopped to help one another in the aftermath of the tragedy.
So what are you guys thoughts and memories in reflection of 911?

Yes it's tragic, and I know thousands of people have been effected by it.
Though my honest opinion about it all wouldn't go down well, so I'm not going to say it.

And can you go a little faster?!
A whole day passed and only one person remembered 9/11? For shame.
I was in my sophomore year of high school, at my study skills class. I remember exactly what happened. The entire school was instructed to turn on the news, and we all saw the towers collapse live on TV. No one knew what was going on. The entire school was silent that whole day.

I was talking about this thread, The fact that no one else decided to make a "Remember 9/11" thread just seems insensitive.
My apologies, I didn't know the only way to pay respect was in the form of online threads.

No, he got it loud and clear, tendoboy. The rest of us had our moments of silence and rememberance IRL, it seems, and there's nothing wrong with that at all. In fact, it gives a lot less people opportunity to complain. Sorry, TokyoRed, it was a nice thread idea.
