As a long time Nintendo gamer, I feel that these two systems are great in their own right. The problem with the Wii U at the moment is the lack of hit games. The 3DS has more time in the market and, therefore, has more hit games to speak of. Also, I feel that the 3DS is an excellent isolated experience while the Wii U offers excitement for you and the whole family. That's the difference I see but I'm still up in the air of which one I would choose personally, At the moment, I'd probably choose a 3DS due to the amount of games. But in time, if possible, I feel that the Wii U can become the go to system for all fun games.
3DS because I have a big preference for Handhelds(though the gamepad's off-tv play does half of a handheld's job)

I have a 3DS, Wii U and 2DS. So the question for me is which one am I most likely to lose interest in playing? Wii U. Super Mario 3D World looks amazing, but it'll have to be unrealistically phenomenal to make me pay more attention to my Wii U than my 3DS and 2DS considering that access to 3DS and DS libraries.

I have both, so probably a 3DS, as I've been considering upgrading to the XL model anyway. Spent about a half hour today meticulously cleaning the surface of the screen because I was going to apply one of those screen protector things...
There should have been a warning on the label that those things can only be applied after going over the 3DS with an electron microscope to find any remaining dust molecule, and then the film can only be applied in a quarantined and sterilized room, because any impurities in the air will teleport through time and space to stick to the adhesive.
Anyways, I lost a few bucks today and that matte surface of the XL is looking mighty friendly.

everyone! I think the OP is talking about an imaginary scenario in which you(the people answering) don't have either 3DS or WiiU! or not..........

I would go with the Wii U. I have a lot of Wii U/Wii games I need to catch up on because of how busy school has been for me and I want to play those games more than my 3DS games. Also, my boyfriend enjoys playing Pikmin 3 with me and I'm sure Super Mario 3D World would be just as fun to play with him!
I would go with the 3DS XL. The Wii-U is pretty good, but I own/have owned around 12 3DS games while there are only 5-6 Wii U games that have really interested me.
