Make predictions for anything gaming related in 2015
Here are mine:
Nintendo

-A Hat in Time launches in Spring 2015, gets high marks from reviewers, and joins the ranks of Shovel Knight and Steamworld Dig as top quality indie games.
-Xbone sales nosedive dramatically in the first half of 2015, mostly due to the holiday price cut ending
-Assassin's Creed has it's worst selling year.
-Bandai Namco announces a port of Tales of Legendia to 3DS.
-Tales of Zestiria gets a PS4 port

-Rocksteady announces their next game, Arrow: Starling City
Currently Playing: Steamworld Heist, The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask, Tales of Graces F
All Star Wars games from now on will be canon, so if they did a SFxSW it would mean they were in the same universe. I doubt they'd do that. But that would make for some great cameo's in Star Wars Episode VIII & IX.
Nintendogs returns for Wii U...with amiibo support.
Nintendo has never forgotten about Nintendogs. As a matter of fact, it recently rereleased Nintendogs + Cats for the 3DS eShop, alongside a theme promotion. They also haven't forgot about the DS' success. Having sequels to Kirby's Canvas Curse, Mario Vs. Donkey Kong Miniland Meyhem and Art Academy; plus announcing DS Virtual Console, a sequel to Nintendogs just seems like the next step.
There's also this part of the Nintendogs + Cats Iwata asks
"Konno: We actually considered it for the Wii system. But it doesn’t have a microphone, so you couldn’t talk to your dog.
Iwata: Oh! So if the Wii Remote controller had a mic, there might have been a Wii version of Nintendogs?
Konno: Yeah. We might have moved forward with it.
Miyamoto: But there’s a distance between the Wii Remote and the television, so it might not have felt like you were petting your dog."
The Gamepad however has the solution to both those problems.
amiibo also seems like a perfect fit with the game. Scanning these figures in for special bonuses for your pet. It's too enticing for the Nintendogs audience.
To answer why Nintendo never made it in 2012-2014, it's probably to ensure that they have the audience. I think Nintendo's learning from Nintendogs + Cats. While over 3 million copies is still an impressive feat, it's not near what Nintendogs DS set out, with over 24 million copies. I think 2015 is a perfect time to bring a Nintendogs game to Wii U, as it's currently reclaiming that audience.
No, I'm not saying it will reach 24 million copies sold, but it will sell.
Main ones
-Ubisoft apologizes a lot for their disappointing behavior this year. Undecided how genuine it will be.
-Activision and/or Disney finds a renewed partnership with Nintendo because of Skylanders and/or Disney Infinity
-Xbox One goes back to being "Ps4 except no one cares" for much of 2015
-Wii U continues its slow growth but with more momentum and some Japanese developers because of its success in Japan
-Ps4 still rules the universe, hopefully with actual exclusives
-Origin takes advantage of Steam frustrations to get more EA players
-Capcom actually releases new video games again, actually announces a legit Megaman game
-Sega gets in major, MAJOR legal trouble
-3DS gets the type of 3rd party support Wii U owners beg for
-Splatoon and Evolve are huge hits
-Arkham Knight reaches Assassin's Creed level sales (especially after the inevitable AC decline from the Unity insanity)
-Indie games start getting support at game retailers (beyond Minecraft or the like)
Xenoblade for the N3DS is released when the system launches in Europe/USA/Canada and amiibo support for Smash 3DS is patched in at around the same time
amiibo ends up being a reasonable success, but not a huge hit
Because EA got 2 lawsuits for releasing a single broken game in Battlefield 4 and Sega has done arguably more questionable things. Between the highly questionable releases of Sonic Boom or Aliens Colonial Marines or the actual straight up illegal things that happened with Shining Force 3, or even that hing with Level 5, this seems almost inevitable.

Don't know about the latter 2, but EA didn't get sued because Battlefield was broken. They got sued because they misled people about the quality of a game that turned out broken.
Currently Playing: Steamworld Heist, The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask, Tales of Graces F
New 3DS, New 3DS XL, and New 2DS get announced for June 2015.
Xenoblade Chronicles will be a GameStop exclusieve in the US and releases in May (they said they're almost finished)
Why would they release Xenoblade N3DS a month before the console? Unless you mean X, then yeah, I can see that happening (especially because it doesn't seem like anything else will come out in May).

-Slim redesigns for the PS4/XB1 are hinted at
-The announcement of PS4/XB1 consoles with 1TB hard drives
-Dragon Ball Xenoverse ends up being either the best DB game since the PS2 era, or it ends up being absolutely horrible (there is no middle ground anymore)
-The Wii is finally discontinued worldwide
Wishful Thinking
-Finally being able to change your PSN name
-Open world Harry Potter
-The Wii U VC finally gets some love
There's Sorcerer's Stone, Chamber of Secrets, and Prisoner of Azkaban on the PS2, GameCube, and Xbox, but the GCN and Xbox versions of COS are gimped ports, and the PS2 version has horrible load times that makes the game borderline unplayable. But SS and POA are fine for all three systems.

I have all of those lol. Philosopher's Stone and Chamber of Secrets on PC (best versions) and Prisoner of Azkaban on GCN. I mean like an open world RPG kind of thing.

-Final Fantasy XV is delayed to 2016

-More disappointing games (hopefully SW Battlefront isn't one of them)
The next Skylanders game is better than Trap Team, Giants and Spyro's Adventure, but worse than SWAP Force. It still lacks online multiplayer. SWAP Zones are still gone and get no equivalent. The gimmick involves shoehorned larger-than-usual figures and Traps are either dropped or gimped by being turned into once-a-level Magic Items.
