Majora's Mask 3D. Your arguments are invalid

If Xenoblade Chronicles X doesn't sell you on buying a Wii U then you ought to be ashamed of yourself.

Was hoping for Mario Maker news. :c
Also, the Pikmin movie trailer had a disturbingly funny intro.

Meh.. I didn't see anything that wow'd me..

Majora's mask took me by surprise but at the end of the day the only thing it'll be there for is the shut up those complaining that we didn't get it yet. Just a graphical update and ben to feed your nightmares.

Splatoon and steam I don't know if I'll get into at all so I can't really hype there..

And everything else was just DLC pretty much.

Pikmin 3 is never being let go, is it? I was expecting an amiibo announcement after all of that.

Nothing interested me besides the MK8 trailer for the DLC I've already bought.

At least Majoras Mask is out of the way now, so that should quiet the hipsters who have been begging for it.

Kirby is a pass, I don't like anime/androgynous male characters so Xenoblade is being skipped but if Splatoon plays well online I will pick that up. Looks like I won't be buying a new Wii U game until May or June of 2015 at the earliest. My 3DS will continue to gather dust as well but I will be saving money!

Nothing really jaw dropping, but it revealed mostly good info.

The good:
I'm glad they announced new info on Xenoblade X, that world looks epic
Finally Majora's Mask 3D
STEAM looks really fun, though a bit wacky
Love the Zelda map in MK8
The Pikmin Shorts launching today was a pleasant surprise.
The Duck Hunt Trailer was awesome
Duck Hunt in the e-shop
They spent very little time on Hyrule Warriors
Kirby and the Rainbow Curse comes out pretty early
Splatoon Single player looks like a shooter platformer hybrid. Seems awesome.

The bad:
Amiibo in other games is disappointing. It's basically DLC tied to figures.
We've seen enough Captain Toad, he didn't need a new Trailer. OR/AS would be better news
Why the hell did they show Ultimate NES remix

No full Xenoblade Trailer

Nothing on Woolly World, Giant Robot, Mario Maker, or Mario Party 10
3DS lineup is still barren next year

Pretty good, but no Yoshi's Woolly World, Mario Maker, or Project Giant Robot (wasn't expecting that one) which were all listed for first half of 2015. With Splatoon not coming until the second quarter, the Wii U needs a game in either January or March, preferably the latter. We saw more of Xenoblade Chronicles, so I think it's possible to see that in the summer or before, but probably won't come out until the fall. Nintendo can avoid another game drought if they release them like this:
January: Maybe Yoshi's Woolly World or Mario Maker
February: Kirby and the Rainbow Curse
March: Probably Yoshi's Woolly World or Mario Maker
April: Splatoon
May: Whichever of Yoshi's Woolly World and Mario Maker aren't released in first quarter
June or July: Project Giant Robot (we'll see evolved into a full game, maybe partially in a Nintendo Direct and then final form at E3)
August or September: Xenoblade Chronicles X
October: Star Fox or Project Guard, the other will be delayed until 2016
November: The Legend of Zelda

Somewhere in there we'll see Mario Party 10, which seemed well into development at E3, and that was months ago. Still, Nintendo may hold it until the holiday season, or maybe not. There's also that Mario vs. Donkey Kong game.

That's a pretty good 2015 lineup. With Nintendo Directs and E3, we should see maybe another game or two for 2015 and plenty more for 2016.

Was Splatoon delayed? I thought it was slated for first half 2015 release, in which Q2 fits comfortably.

I think everyone at Nintendo is annoyed that Pikmin isn't super popular so they're trying to change that so they can make Pikmin 4.

Honestly in terms of consistently interesting content this was easily one of the best Directs. Basically everything they showed interests me for one reason or another and it showed some decent balancing of putting interesting games on both systems. I think everyone also wants Monster Hunter to be huge here...

It was always 1st half of 2015 (Wikipedia listed it as Q1/Q2) so it wasn't delayed, it just had one quarter pinned down.

I think too many people here were expecting content to match E3. Guys, they're not going to cover every little aspect you want them to. I, for one, am happy with announcements made today.

STEAM is actually looking really good, IMO. It's blend of comic book artstyle, steampunk world, and 1800's Americana is unique, and I'd say personally more appealing than Splatoon, IMO (not that the latter looks bad by any means).

Majora's Mask 3D was a nice surprise, especially since it won't be N3DS exclusive (I think this is a good sign that most upcoming 3DS games will still be compatible with the older models).
