So I've been a member now for a little while now,
And have come notice the amount of threads about WiiU complaints are often almost as common as actual discussion-worthy threads. And these "complaints" are often as trivial as mere Gamepad calibration issues, or a certain inability to connect to the internet. Complaints that can often be solved through merely googling it or similar. And they're oft most seriously clogging up the system of an otherwise really well maintained forum.
So I suppose I was merely wondering, Is there anything that can possibly be done about it?
Or is this little (Mildly Ironic) complaint of mine merely to trivial or conceited to even bear thinking about?
I'd suggest a Sticky thread, but I'm starting to question how effective Stickies are when we still get people making threads asking for recommendations frequently...
Also, Now that I've begun my rant against humanity, and my descent into darkness,
The whole "Should I Get A Nintendo WiiU?" threads that appear at least twice a week are also slowly beginning to grind against my nerves. Especially as there' s only so many answers that can be delivered to such a question after all. And we do have a forum dedicated entirely to Help/Problems anyway, so there shouldn't technically be any excuse for having all those threads appear under the main WiiU forum
Well the biggest problem with all the Wii U complaints as you put it or the Should I buy a Wii U threads is the fact that Nintendo Life doesn't have the greatest search bar. But even with a good search bar I still believe that we will see alot of duplicate threads. For one thing people dont look to see if there is a thread that is similar to the one they are about to post. I think they think that their question or complaint wont be seen in an ongoing thread so they make a new one. But who knows really.
My advice is if you see a duplicate thread help the person out by showing where the similar thread is, thats what I usually do. I am sure that you have probably seen where I will put a link to an ongoing thread in the duplicate thread. That way the person knows where to go. Also you can hit the report button and let a mod know that it is a duplicate thread as well and they will take appropriate actions.
I have indeed seen your contributions to this forum, and it's quite likely even that you've linked me to alternate thread once or twice before as well. So I suppose I ought to thank you for your efforts really. And another appropriate solution may be to implement an "Official" starred Help/Assistance Thread within the WiiU Forum section. One that may be able to sit snuggly alongside all the other starred threads at the top the page, that way it'll always be easily accessible and visible
@Tuurtledove: You would think that a stickying a thread would fix that but again it seems that most people just post something rather than check first to see if there is a sticky thread on the subject. I mean we have a 3DS Friend Code thread stickied in the Online section and I still see a bunch of 3DS friend code threads being made.
