Topic: Why are staff allowed to post links for roms and hacks but users can't?

Not looking to stir up trouble but I am just curious. In the color Super Mario Land 2 article there is a link in the article that goes to a room site. Yet when if In where to do it my links would be removed as they have been in the past. You even have it under report where you can select that a post you are reporting contains links to rom sites. I understand that such things are grey but that's not the point I am trying to make. How can one expect us to follow the rules when the staff doesnt? Just a thought.

@Tasuki I dunno. Discussing current gen homebrew and hacking isn't allowed on the forums either, yet we got plenty of articles that mentioned hacking the Wii U when it was still Nintendo's current gen system.

I don't think it's particularly wrong for them to report on some of the things. After all sometimes those are news too, and fan projects can be fun to look at.

Linking to sites with instructions on how to hack/pirate/dubious verb should be a big no-no though... Even though I do understand they need to provide a source for the article...

Bloop.

@Joeynator3000 I am not sure what you mean by that, but no any unofficial modding or hacking is not allowed to be discussed there at all.

Well I meant that if the rules were the same, but hacking articles still popped up anyways.
