Topic: User Reviews

My newest idea for NL, is that on each games page, there should be a place where us user's who aren't NL staff, can give the game a 1-10 stars. No writing or anything, just a click of the mouse for your opinion. Please consider this NL!!!

Yeah, but that is all about reviews that are in depth. I just want a choice of 1-10, and then the average would be displayed on the games main page.

You mean how YouTube used to be with the stars under the video before they switched to like/dislike?

Not a bad idea as long as people don't vote for games they haven't played.
I hope i'm wrong but i could see the CoD games getting lower scores than they deserve just because some people think it's their mission to bash FPS'es. Or Sonic Colors because some people think this is the way to show how much they hate SEGA for not bringing Epsiode 2 to WiiWare, ...

Plus trolls. I personally would love it but the system would NOT be accurate.

Agreed, its a great idea if there was a way to keep people honest and fair. Unfortunately, people have a tenancy to attack games (or anything really) that they don't like even if they haven't played them. Just look at MW3's user scores on metacritic; 3.2, 2.9, and 1.7 for Xbox 360, PS3, and Wii respectively.

I like to think we wouldn't get those kinds of score attacks here – Metacritic is a major focal point in the industry so some people think they can 'take a stand' and attack its score somehow. I don't think we'd get that here, but you never know.

Honestly, I think people should post scores and give a reason for the scores.

That's what we do. They're called "reviews".

Seriously though, I will talk to the team about this and see if we can settle on some of that long-awaited review functionality for you guys.
