Too much text covering pictures on home page before timeline. It is not attractive to read and I always scroll down to the timeline to understand what is new. Please, find an alternative, attractive way for "Spotlight News" that text and picture are placed graphically in a correct fashion.
@Cosats thanks for your feedback - however, we're fairly happy with the homepage as it needs to satisfy a number of different types of users. We will continue to make changes though or perhaps give users the option to choose which blocks they see on their homepage. If you like, you can always bookmark the timeline page as your landing page.
