This is my question real quick..... If I create a thread, shouldn't the thread author have the ability to delete post from others, especially in the case of multiple spamming ruining a thread?

As much as I have wished to have this ability myself many, many a time, such power would be greatly abused. Thread creators already go on power trips by adding "Official" to thread titles and other annoying stuff.

The thread I'm sure you're referring to can easily be recreated, anyway. I just wanted my hands washed of it, because I'm too obsessive to ever stop fighting, and that guy was not cooperating or even responding most of the time.

All you can really do is report comments (which I also did, to no avail). I don't think the ability to destroy a planet comment is really suited to each individual user just for starting a thread.

I'd create a thread, JUST so I could delete others comments. That'd be awesome.

@Adam.... yeah I thought of that after I posted it.... really ticks me off cause that thread has been strong and grown a communtiy in it for months but ONE KID comes and and literally destroys it because the author has no power over the tread. Honesty I dont really want to recreate the thread cause Im sure it will just continue.

also, i don't know what that thread was before, but it looks like it was PS3-related and that's why I wasn't watching it or checking up on it. If you guys were having a problem with that dude constantly double-posting, why didn't y'all say something? I'd'a been happy to go through there and kill that guy's double-posts for you. in fact, I can do it now if you like... though it'd probably drop the post count by half, lol, and the context of y'all's replies to him would be gone :3

@theblackdragon..... I think Adam is done with the thread as he previously stated lol. Ill create a new thread. You should leave that thread as it stands.... title and all as its VERY true and will be a good reminder to him what will happen if he keeps the unbearable post up. Ill.... pop it up real quick and im crashing for the night, 3am is coming around real quick. Thanks though cause it has been annoying ALL of us not just Adam.

As I said in chat, I'd rather not force anyone to sift through that huge of a thread just to delete his posts. It wasn't just double-posting, but I'd rather not get into it, as a public thread is not the place to be airing complaints. I don't want to turn it into a thread about a thread after I just got it locked.

The easy solution would be to just ban Adam for incitement. It's not the first time after all.

EDIT: Woah, it was the PS3 thread?! That's been here, like, forever. And I never got round to reading all the 'discussions' in there, dagnammit!

LOL... Machu... got the new thread up and started it off right.... just click the link for a nice little PS3 info bit that dropped one our lovely internet today. Adam, dude you dont even have to explain, I seriously got to where I hated to see it when he posted and the thread didn't get a post for days wich has never happened. New thread, and got TBD as backup before the thread post, we good to go. I love some Nintendo but I really enjoy getting PS3 and Nintendo on this one site...... great stuff, and dont want it to end. You got to still stay on the thread though, your sly remmarks are priceless

@slapshot: like them or not, everyone has the right to post in threads here on the forum, and if it's something legit (like the recommendation of Trine in the other thread; that looked ok), I won't be deleting it. That said, put a link in your OP about where to go in order to get game recommendations (there's some general game-recommendation threads already you can link to if you like) and that that thread is the place to ask 'should i get Game A or Game B???', and I'll be able to cut down the spam. :3

I highly recommend you link to this in your first post for the new PS3 thread. TBD suggested it in chat. Make mention of it and that the thread isn't for such questions (as I assume it isn't, but that's up to you). I should have linked to it in the first thread ages ago.
