And I concur with briun, it's not nice at all for someone to call another someone or two an "idiot".

This is an all-ages site and so we take it rather seriously. I'd rather people who are unable to stop themselves from typing expletives get off the internet (or at least confine it to spaces where it's accepted). Seriously.

Did you not read ChiefThunder's post? 6-8 year olds are swearing all the time. The all-ages argument doesn't work anymore.

Yeah, about that, CH405; children aren't supposed to swear, especially not at the age that you exemplified just now.

@ch405k1n6: not all kids grow up cursing like sailors, and just because some kids are swearing doesn't mean their parents wouldn't pop 'em in the mouth if they were around to hear what they were saying.

In no way is a censor on a family friendly site anywhere near the same as controlling a population, like a shepherd controlling sheep. (I've only read up to Chapter V of 1984, so I'm not entirely sure about everything). The second part of that sentence was sheer stupidity, so I'll remark no more about it.

I'm not worried at all, thank you. I'd just prefer not to see such garbage as I peruse through a family-friendly forum. Although swears are strong words, meaning the users of them must be pretty riled up about whatever, I keep a cool head and choose not to swear. Self discipline is nice.

Ugh, 1984. I loathe that novel.

Anyway, I vote that whoever uses the word that means "round, spherical object" [usually associated with sports] in an utterly inappropriate context be replaced with a much more appropriate word.

I'm quite superised how many people are adamant about being able to curse, I mean all swearing does is make you look like a foul tempered child, and you're likely not to be taken seriously.

I mean I can understand this guy wanting to swear, since through my observations of his posts, nearly a quarter of his vocabulary is curses... I've seen everyone else hold to a higher standard though.

Considering the majority of regular posters here don't curse, and the he majority of curses here have the decency of censoring the word themselves, I don't think we'll need a censor. I don't like cursing at all, for moral and logical reasons, so I don't do it. If you do, it's a free internet, so you can if you want to.
