I don't think the site needs a full censor, but keeping things PGish has got to be an overwhelming task, so if we need some auto "Goshdarnits" to help the mods out, I'm all for that.

i dont think this sites needs any big brother/1984 censoring,because when that happens we will all think the same and every ninty game will get 10/10 or 100%.

I feel that a censor is somewhat unnecessary, but I'd be okay with it merely because of the fact that we have very young members perusing our forums.

I never curse online beyond what you would hear on TV, but a censor would not bug me. Kids are on the site, and a lot of parents don't want them saying that. Still Nintendolife is better than your typical 360 forum, and certainly better than anything said on XBL

I don't think a censor is really necessary. I don't see foul language on here very often, and when I do, it's usually self-censored anyway, so it's not really a problem. Besides, if the script used to filter language gets too in-depth, it starts getting annoying, because you have to choose your wording so that you don't even come close to using "dirty words". I only say that because I remember when I was obsessed with Neopets about 10 years ago, and they have some crazy censoring script on that site. It's hard to type normally because there's so much they don't allow.

I have a funny story about what censoring post can do.

My dad was online posting things on forums and he was talking about someone and their name happened to resemble a certain word so when he posted his message and the automatic censor replaced the guy's name with Thingy. So it ended up saying, "Thingy has a program for debugging....."
