Hell, I'm surprised this forum doesn't already have a censor, especially since there's people as low as 10 years old reading and posting here. I mean, even the [adult swim] forum has a censor, and the lowest age allowed on there is 13...

Actually, we have as low as 7 year olds here.

Just let it happen.

I suspect it may be easier and quicker for all involved if you told us what we can say rather than what we can't and maybe just supply us with some standard replies that we can use in our posts.God forbid that anyone be offended by someones opinion or language. Failing that perhaps we could have a censor that filters out all the sensitive,God fearing yanks instead. Bollocks to this.............. I'm outta here.

Prudes.

I, for one, would be sad to see NL embrace censorship. Not that a filter is really going to stop anyone.

1) its the internet, who gives a ****
2) its only human to use words like that, not excessively, but once in a while.
3) if you wanna use bad words, censor them yourselves!

I don't know about full on censorship. The moderators already crack down on crude and excessive name calling.

Abandon hope all ye who enter here.

(I am new here - cannot tell why some topics were locked?)

if the curses in question aren't directed at a person on the forum, but used to add emotion to a sentence then it should be ok. seriously, who's offended by cursewords these days if it's not intended towards themselves?

mods, stop editing my messages! get with the times, cursewords isn't tabu anymore.

@koopa_troopa: topics wind up locked for a variety of reasons (controversial topic that's blown up before, argument broke out ending in unsalvageable derailment, thread had served its purpose, duplicate thread, etc.), but none would be locked because of a swear word alone. if someone curses in a post, all a moderator has to do is edit the cursing out, no big deal. it's the fact that this process could be automated that appeals to me personally; it's less work for us so we can focus on bigger problems that arise every so often. :3
