There's no point to having the Wii VC forum anymore as the service has not being supported by Nintendo for a few years, hence almost every thread is going to be considered old by NintendoLife's policies, even those on the first page, and subsequently manually locked. People still wishing to discuss the Wii VC should then do so on the Wii forum if they really want to.

Or if NintendoLife would rather keep old threads as an archive, just automatically lock them once they reach a certain length of time without there being any new posts.

How about reading the date of the last post before you post yourself?

It seems to work for everyone else lol

@Bass_X0: Just cause Nintendo doesn't support the service anymore doesn't mean people don't use it. In fact you can still access the Wii VC on the Wii U, I did so a few months ago to get Rondo of Blood finally.

@Tasuki: I'm referring to the Wii VC now being a dead forum here where nobody can post in it anymore without having the topic locked.

@Megumi: There are ONLY old dead threads in there and nothing else, so whats the point in keeping it around? Nobody can attempt to revive it either as the threads get locked and there's nothing worth making new threads about.

I also see the DSiWare forum has barely had any posting in it for several months now. If I were to post in the second most recent thread there, it would get locked as being too old.

@Bass_X0: Make a new thread instead of posting in an old one maybe

People keep saying the Xbox One doesn't have Backwards Compatibility.
I don't think they know what Backwards Compatibility means...

@Bass_X0: Not sure what you mean by it being a dead forum, yeah it might not be as active as it once was but I am sure it still gets activity.

But just because a thread is old, doesn't necessarily mean it needs to be locked. If it's old and no longer relevant, it should be locked, but if it's old, yet still relevant then it's okay. If someone posted on the Petit Computer thread asking for some help for example, there would be no reason to lock the thread since there are still some people who use Petit Computer.

It's OK to revive game-specific threads to talk about it or seek help, or something like that. There's no warranty that people will follow you in and join, but you won't cause a thread lock.

The problem comes when you decide to revive a random thread, only to add useless information to a dead discussion, maybe even with users that no longer post at all. That only causes confusion among the other users.

Bloop.

Although this thread has got me think that maybe all the Wii sections and DS sections should be merged into a single Wii and a single DS section instead of having a Wii VC, Wii ware section once the NX comes out. By then the Wii will be 2 generations back and I am sure activity for it on the site will dwindle. Also with so many sections the forums will start to look cluttered.

When the NX releases, one or both of those systems will probably merge with Retro.

Well by the time the NX, or whenever the next home console or portable console release, those systems will be 2 generations old just like the GameCube currently is and that is considered Retro.
