Unfortunately, different areas of the world see different ads, and we don't have direct control over what shows up on your end. However, you can take a screenshot of the offending ad(s) and forward those on to Ant via the Contact Form. That way he'll have something to show our ad providers so that it can be removed from the potential lineup.

Yeah I believe they are based on your browsing tendencies. I tend to browse for retro games, World of Warcraft stuff, football scores and Pizza Hut delivery so most of the adds I see are for retro game sites, free to play MMOS, Comcast, and pizza.

YOu can always send in a screen shot of the offending add and use the contact form to show the admins what the problem is. That is what I was instructed to do when I had a few questionable adds come up mostly ones about electronic cigarettes just in case you are curious.

it could indeed be 'romans', it could be you looking for game-related information, it could be anything, really. who knows. I keep getting these ads asking me to 'download now!!!', and it turned out to be some kind of toolbar for who-knows-what, but it's so cheesy and generic it just struck me as odd. :/

@TBD: Yeah I see those too. At first I though it was something for NL like some kind of plug in that I was missing but than I looked closer and saw it wasnt. I also get adds from some place called Lukies or something like that.

I saw that ad too, and all I do on this computer is go to my school(homeschooled), NLife, Nintendo, Backlog, Chatzy, and Gmail.

I got that on another website. I was very disappointed when I clicked it.

That's what I keep getting. Like, 3 different versions, too. One's a PDF Viewer (BECAUSE I GUESS NOT EVERY COMPUTER ALREADY COMES WITH ADOBE READER PREINSTALLED!), a map viewer (Because I recently looked up google maps a few times, I guess?), and one that just says "download now to get redirected to our website!" (at least they're honest...). This is all just screwy if you ask me.

@Lan: Considering NL relies on ad revenue to pay server costs, please help support the site by not using AdBlock if at all possible. You can always do what I do, disable it here and leave it enabled everywhere else :3

So that's what it is. I thought it was going to give me a virus (who else would be so vague unless you don't want what they want you to download?). Well, crappy toolbars also fall into the no way in hell I'm downloading this category. Never know with ads from Google (not them, but they use your data to put their customers' ads).

That's what I do. I don't use ad block to support the site. I just ignore the ads; easier said than done.
