It would be nice if we could have a button or an option available someplace for previewing posts and replies before submitting them. I've had to edit my posts more than a few times already because of stupid formatting errors on my part (i'm used to HTML, not bbcode) that would've been caught had i been able to preview what i was attempting to post.

That would be nice. Also, I think there's a screw loose in the spell checker. Sometimes it will flag correctly spelled words. Other times it will take the last few letters of one word, then a space, then the first few letters of the next word and call it all misspelled.
Edwin, I don't think the site has a spell checker. If there is a problem with your browser's built-in spell check, I don't see how this site could possibly affect it.
I'm looking at the "Check spelling" button right now. Directly above the upper right corner of this comment box. I don't think it's part of my browser, but I suppose it could be.
i don't see the spell check option for normal comments, but for posting a new topic and editing a topic/comment, it's there. weird, IMO.

news articles: only on editing a comment forums: only when posting an entirely new topic or editing a comment/topic.
I don't think it's just the browser, either, because I'm using Firefox, which has a built-in spellchecker.

Huh, you're right. Spell check is only there after you hit Edit or when you are starting a new topic, not when you are just posting a normal reply for the first time. My bad, Edster! That's just odd. Seems like if spell check were there from the get-go, you wouldn't have to press Edit as often, and the lack of a post preview wouldn't be so hard to overlook.
No worries. Just to be clear, I have spell checking in all the places theblackdragon does as well as when posting regular comments. I have the option right now as I'm typing this. And I'm using IE which I don't think has a built-in checker.

Just to be clear, that wasn't clear at all, because the Black Dragon said she had it only when posting new topics or editing posts, exactly like I do.
