@antdickens I just thought I'd mention a bug I noticed while was using the Submit Game feature. Under the Release Dates tab, if you add additional release dates, the Alternate Publisher section for each subsequent date has a drop-down menu (rather that a textbox like the first).
Since my rant in the Federation Force thread isn't being answered quickly enough to my satisfaction in the circumstances I remembered this thread and so will post my thoughts a bit more concisely and in a more appropriate thread here. a-hem
A block feature is needed. I have requested this feature for a while and have only been ignored. I sent a well typed e-mail to the site specifically on this issue and it was ignored. I've had run-ins with users that I'm beyond sick and tired of especially when it has reached a point where they are now being sly with their attacks and have no other course of action for resolving them myself. A response telling me to 'make-up' with the other person is patronising to me in the circumstances and was a disappointing 'resolution' to this little tiff. An answer along the lines of 'we're working on it, don'cha worry about those sly attacks in the while!' with a smile face will be deemed to be even more patronising and disappointing to me. I would like this to be adressed soon. Please.
So yeah my suggestion with reference to my experiences here. Thanks!
A suggestion from me, though I'm sure it's been suggested already; give us a way to stop receiving notifications of replies from certain people.
I can't be the only one that's tired of not having a block feature. And to be honest, why should we be forced to deal with them if they don't want to drop a conversation?
We don't have to have their posts stop appearing in any page we go into or anything; just make it so that we don't know when they're replying to us anymore, if we block them.
That way it's easier to ignore them and moderators won't have to get involved as often.
If this suggestion isn't already Priority #1, then it should be soon.
I'd like to see it extend not just to these forums, but to articles as well.
@Tasuki I did.
But there's a certain amount of personal satisfaction and, more importantly, a higher feeling of freedom and security, to being able to do something about it ourselves.
Ignoring it or running to the mods for every little thing is just a band-aid solution; it doesn't solve the core issue, IE, that of undesirables not being able to reach out to us in the first place.
I don't feel that this request is unreasonable in the least. And it would save the moderators a bit of work in the long run, too, if they didn't have to deal with people reporting each other over small tiffs because blocking isn't an option.
It's a standard across many sites for a very good reason, and it's something that would make the users here feel more secure and happy in the end, through having at least that minimal amount of ability to decide who does and doesn't get to "rent space" in their notification boxes.
Isn't that worth striving for?
@smashbrolink How is ignoring it a band-aid? That's pretty much what blocking is. Just cause they say or post something doesn't mean you have to respond, just be the bigger person. As for the mods, um that's why they are here.

@Tasuki Well, I've already said my piece on it; I feel it's a band-aid, because the point is to disallow them any contact, and to give the users that comforting level of control over who can and cannot make direct contact with them.
Ignoring them and running to the mods doesn't stop anyone if they're super persistent and don't mind making multiple accounts to pursue action.
As someone who experienced that on this site a long while ago and had no recourse but to stop visiting for a very long time, to avoid the jerk who wouldn't quit messaging me no matter how many times I ran to the mods, I say that we need this.
And it doesn't hurt anyone but the bad guys in the long run, anyways; it's a service towards the good users.
Since Pure Xbox is going away, and since some of the editors play Xbox as well as their respective gaming platform(s) that they write, vlog or play about daily, they should make the three sites combined into one unified site. It would also much easier for people who have a Xbox and a Playstation or Nintendo product (or vice versa) to get their news quickly instead of having to switch pages all the time. Also, you have to pay money to keep the servers up and running as well, right? This idea wouldn't cost you that much money and would be faster and easier to do. I don't know. Maybe I'm just rambling, and I make no sense whatsoever.
This has to be the dumbest post ever here. . Do you want this place to go to fanboy hell?

Could we please have some sort of BBCode text editor buttons for posts? You know, those things you see on other websites where you press a button, and it automaticly provides a BBCode tag, like [b.][/b.] and whatnot? At least in the forums, if not in the comment section? It doesn't need to be super-fancy, but at least bold, italics, and underlining would be great. Then we wouldn't need things like using stars to bold things, or undersscores for italics - both of which are very common for titles and whatnot, so then the page gets messed up.
using underlines, bolding, and bulletpoints really messes up the page. I'm pretty sure that's a glitch, but one that would be easily solved by the above suggestion.
I personally find it annoying that pressing the forum button always takes you to same subforum as whatever portion of the site you're on - Wii U, 3DS, eShop, ect. It just adds an extra step, IMO. Granted, I started using the "all topics" button since I came back in June, but I still think it's worth bringing up.
If we're not allowed to talk about bans, can you at least bring back the "banned" status? I have no idea why you got rid of that, and all it does is create more instances where people are going to start asking questions that you don't want asked. It doesn't make a lick o' sense...
I personally wouldn't mind a "back to the top" button near the bottom of the page, especially under the text box. - how long has that been there?! Yes! Okay, that'll browsing certain pages easier.
Yeah the banned status only shows up for the mods and higher ranked staff og NL. Even though I am a mod over at Pushsquare I cant see the ban status unless I go back to Pushsquare.

My apologies if this has already been suggested, but I for one would appreciate the Page navigation buttons in the Forums to be at the top of the page as well as at the bottom. Having to scroll to the bottom to move pages is a regular minor irritant of mine.
You guys had me at blood and semen.
What better way to celebrate than firing something out of the pipe?
@gcunit Same. I wanna say it didn't used to be that way, because it took me months to stop looking for the navigation buttons on the top...but maybe it did. This site's always been kind of weird.
Wanted to say something, since it seems the mods don't know this (...or don't care, I dunno, lol)...But adding in an @ mention via editing should still be able to notify the member. As far as I know, it doesn't do this....and I see mods edit posts and mention them there.
@Joeynator3000 - Testing... I've never been sure. Would certainly help if it did work.
