People will just vote down every post of people they don't like.

Nobody will actually decide whether or not a post is worthy or a thumbs up of thumbs down.

Then the blacklist thing would be fine for a PM system but not for comments.

Both these ideas are terrible.

Voting on posts seems silly. When I post a comment, I just want to ask a question or make a joke, not run for office.

i always thought voting was stupid. i dont want to be judged on everything i do.

Oh boy, agreed Adam.

Some of us have done enough of that recently.

I like things the way they are. PLEASE do not change them. This is the best forum I have ever been to, and the whole voting thing just seems like a bad idea.

I rule when it comes to games. So deal with it.

I don´t think that this vote down feature would make it on the Top Ten List what features users want in NintendoLife.
I´d like

  • Private messeging.
  • FC:s in profile.
  • Single line signatures.
  • Country flag in forums just as in News comments.
  • More info in profile such as age, gender, msn, mail, games playing or whatever.
  • Search users on whatever filter.
  • Tree like layout of forum threads instead of this horrible modern linear way.
  • Tournament page where you can set up tournament, post results, users can easily just say I´m in. Users that are set up to play should be able to chat and post comments.
  • A check box in the profile to alert users that you are online in what game, what mode for approx amount of time.
  • Longer New Forum Posts list.
  • New Forum Posts list in all pages.
  • Pegi rating in the Game overview

I'd like a little check or something next to a thread title that lets me know that I have already posted in that thread.

That way I can easily look at the threads I've commented in and see if there are any responses.

I actualy like the way this forum is laid out. As for your other suggestions I am all for.

Another great idea from AlexSays. This feature would be very helpful.

This would be nice. I have noticed on occasion that, while checking the 'updated topics' list, sometimes topics i'd posted in before and was waiting on a response in won't show up in the main list. then, two days later, i'll start thinking about it, so I'll check on a hunch and sure enough there's like one or two people who had responded to me in that thread and it had never shown up as 'updated', which is annoying, because i could've responded to them two days ago, y'know?

long story short, a 'check' or some little symbol (like y'all's nifty new shields :3) beside threads I've posted in if there are new replies would be a great feature, so I don't have to rely on the (faulty) 'updated' part of the forums.

That would be nice. I hate having to dig through threads that aren't on the home page just to see if someone responded to a comment I made in another thread.

I'd also like the option to multi-quote, like on VC-Forums.

This forum is the best out of every other website! please dont "fix" it!. i bet the other gaming sites are trying to change theirs like this one cuz this one is so awesome!

Add me to the list who doesn't want any thumb up system, there is a reason why this site doesn't have the problems of many other forums and that is because it doesn't have any comment rating, post counts or any other rubbish like that that just ends up being abused.

Re: Alex's suggestion

There already is a Watch Topic option, though obviously that's a bit different, and if you post to a lot of threads, all those email updates would get annoying. I use it on threads I have a particular interest in, though, and it helps.

Don't do it!! It'll only turn into a popularity contest. I hate all this Thumbs up/down stuff. Just let people have their say and move on. Although an ignore feature could be useful ,someone you chose to ignore might make a comment or question that is of intrest to you which will be missed. Although I would probably ignore Lakitu 64's comments, no offence man but I just can't understand what your on about 90% of the time, do keep posting though as one day I may be intelligent enough to finally get what your trying to say.

What's this bit for again?

JoeDiddley

Isn't it better to reply to a comment if you have an opinion about it? If someone agrees or disagrees with an opinion ain't it more interesting to see why??

It's not about disagreements, Joe. It's about offensive comments and spam. You shouldn't vote down posts you disagree with, but that's what most users fear would happen were this feature to be implemented.

Dicesukeinuzuka

No voting systems please, on youtube people always; AND I MEAN ALWAYS vote down a "first comment" even if the person also says something about the video, its very annoying, and also, it seems that people purposely right bad comments about spoilers so they can get spammed or get thumbs down or so they can start an argument.

Also, buy the Manga and DVD's, and games, support the industy! : DD! ~ ♪ ♫ ~ AND NEVER PIRATE!! >
