Using the Internet Archive Wayback Machine , I tracked down some old versions of Nintendo Life. This sites frequently saves old websites for you to revisit. Unfortunately, it rarely saves the full website, so most screenshots are incomplete in some way.
The saved states of Nintendo Life date back to 2005. For the screenshots, I used the news page because I found out I was using the news page halfway through the process. The result shouldn't be much different from using the main page.
The earliest saved state I found was from 2005, well, 31-12-2005, but still. It's clear that not everything has been saved, but you can clearly see the difference: http://i.imgur.com/52Irpk7.jpg
I love how the Wii is still called Revolution
The next one I have is from 15-05-2006. Looks like it was able to load a little more this time. http://i.imgur.com/SA1NAce.jpg
Then comes 13-12-2006. Looks like the site had been redesigned, with things like new sign in buttons, renewed boxes and icons there on the side, and some other general changes. http://i.imgur.com/D1uz33Q.jpg
Wow, 2007 already? 11-11-2007 to be precise. With this backup, it looks like it was able to save a little bit more when it comes to the layout. Also, 'Sonic Enters The Brawl', I just love that Also, note the new more rounded bars. It may be just the site's fault for not showing the new bars until now, but who knows. http://i.imgur.com/tOrO3Cg.jpg
And hello 2008! This one is from 13-01-2008. Nice redesign. You should keep that. But seriously, it's too bad the site hasn't saved this one very well. Oh well. http://i.imgur.com/MOu3T49.jpg
Next one is from 13-09-2008. I think it looked a bit more like this? Note the (thus far known) new username and photo box. http://i.imgur.com/oF5nFLN.jpg
I couldn't find anything special from 2009, but this one is from 09-04-2010. Looks like they changed up the menu buttons a little bit. Also, I like the new artwork on the top http://i.imgur.com/kGFPpg1.jpg
18-08-2010. I'm seeing some new console buttons. And what's that?...the 3DS! Also, does that redesigned logo look familiar? http://i.imgur.com/0cZbBLX.jpg
04-05-2012. Apparently all the console buttons became a little overwhelming, so here's another redesign! Looks like some things have been moved around, and some astheatic things (like the round/sharp edges) have been changed. http://i.imgur.com/xlw06zk.jpg
05-06-2013. I don't know whether this is because of the incomplete backups, or whatever, but I found this one noticable because it was the first one to show the social media button. It's just a tweet-button, but it's something. http://i.imgur.com/tB0ax67.jpg
I found this to be a lot of fun to do. It's funny how the site has changed so much over the last 10 years, especially for someone like me who hasn't been following this site for nearly that long. I just wanted to share this. Do what you want with it
Removed the IMG tags, too many large images can slow down the site for some users.-MorphMarron
From a website design standpoint, there definitely have been some major steps up, like the dissapearing and reappearing bar on top, and some more convenient ways to sort articles. I personally really like the changes and added features for the users, but like I said before, there's a post on the front page and a seperate forum topic for that, so I won't go into that here.
The mobile site has also been redesigned, but unfortunately I can't screencap that. I"ve heard mixed responses over it though.
I'm personally all for this redesign, and I'm excited to see what direction the site'll take from here!
@Tasuki Ow, sorry. The link to the site I did this on is http://archive.org/web/ . Just fill in the nintendolife.com/news link and you should be able to find everything. I'll look up the specific links now, and add them to this post once I found them all. Will that make you happy again?
@Blast Thanks! I enjoyed doing it. It was really fun to see the 'evolution' of the site together like this, so to speak. Maybe a new redesign would be nice, I'm curious to see what they would do next
I have being trying to work out using the wayback machine when reviews switched from being about mechanics etc to just being PR basically all about the feelings of the reviewer.

...Weird, here on my part both my phone and my PC suddenly stopped loading the screenshots, it now only shows them as weblinks. Is anyone else having this problem? Oh well, at least I have added the original links now.
EDIT: Just noticed they removed the images and replaced them with the weblinks because the actual images could slow down the site. That's another mystery solved. They do still show up when you click them, luckily
But Nintendo Life wasn't called that in 2005? I don't believe it got that name till 08 or 09
Really? That's weird. This site's dates can be a few days off, but not a few years. I wouldn't know if they once had another name. But apparently that means another site called Nintendo Life with a grey-blue logo existed
