Is....is this really necessary? Especially when it pulls off disturbing/inappropriate images all the time. I don't need to see some fat dude's stomach, or some woman in her bra constantly.

Keep it PG-13-ish.
@Octane Yeah....I guess. Normally I would have adblock on (I'm trying it again, since it works) but occasionally I'll run into some issue that causes the site to not load at all.

Disables ad block to see what the ads are like, gets granny's secret to removing wrinkles, 20 celebs who I don't know are muslim, sheding 1.4 stone in 2 weeks with one simple £3 trick, a video UK billionaires want banned, along with other clickbait videos.
I think I need a job at Tim Horton's... apparently several people from my town who I've never met had breakdowns after winning thousands of dollars while working there.
But yeah, those click-bait ads have made me consider using adblock
I use ad-block but have it turned off for Nintendolife,it's only fair. They really don't bother me though, whether I'm on my laptop or mobile.I'm lucky the ones in Thailand aren't too bad, theyr'e mostly just mobile or tech ads with the occasional beauty product ad.I was in Scotland a few weeks ago though and some of them were ridiculous.Things like "The high powered anti theft torch that has EVERYONE in Kirkcaldy talking", funny as no one mentioned it to me.
I turned off the AdBlock on the PC browser and don't use it in the phone, so yeah, I get them, and yeah, they're pretty tacky - sometimes vaguely disturbing. Currently being sold a 'genius pill' that is only not banned in the UK. There's a sprinkling of deformed bodies, a fair dose of light erotica, a decent amount of badly aged celebs I haven't heard of, and a lot of general scaremongering. Oh, and the dating sites (which apparently "ACTUALLY WORK").
It would be nice if they could be made a bit more... tasteful.
Thanks for the feedback, and yeah we understand the issues. We don't have direct control over the ads, it's a marketplace, however we do have influence over what's allowed and what's not.
We (as a network) recently moved to a different provider of these ads, and therefore the new system is still learning about the content/users of the site, so the type of ads should improve/change with more time... if there are any that you really don't like please report them to us via the contact form and we'll do what we can to ban them.
