I heard Ant Dickens refused to even acknowledge the existence of Australia after watching Crocodile Dundee III. So blame Paul Hogan, I guess.

I can confirm this is 100% true.

That, and Ant also grew disgruntled after the Almighty Time Lord Budgie Smuggler High King of Australia (better known to most of you as @Aviator) kept stealing all his pudding and forced him to consume copious amounts of Vegemite instead.

We probably line up with Europe ever so slightly more than the US.

I'd argue that it's because we're closer to Britain in terms of our vernacular and culture (as much as the U.S. likes to exert its cultural imperialism over the rest of the world), which makes sense as Australia is one of the Commonwealth nations and technically, Queen Elizabeth II is our head of state.

Well I'm a Republican so I think of us being our own thing entirely but that's a topic for another day and another forum. Oh, and for Americans reading this, "Republican" means something different here. Well, originally it meant a similar thing but it doesn't really mean that in the US anymore.

"Don't stir the pot" is a nice way of saying "they're too dumb to reason with"

I can agree on this mostly. Three decent exceptions of this are recently, the New 3DS, Europe not getting the Gold and Silver Mario Amiibo but Australia did and a long time ago Terranigma getting a very limited release outside Japan. Our Australian release of that game was separate to the few EU countries that also got the game.
Most of the time though it's just release delays to Australia. I don't mean the few hours difference thanks to timezones, I mean the week or more delays. But that's not to bad, we can handle that ok.

From Wiki, these are the four divisions and their sub-divisions. A/B I'm saying they're split across multiple locations. A + B I'm saying two things are at the one location. I think it kinda makes a bit of a point about which regions have the resources:

Nintendo of Japan: Japan (Tokyo/Kyoto), China, South Korea, Hong Kong
Nintendo of America: USA (Redmond/California/Georgia/Washington), Canada (Vancouver/Toronto)
Nintendo of Europe: Germany (NoE + ND), France, The Netherlands, Spain (Spain/Portugal), Italy, UK, Russia
Nintendo of Australia: Australia (NAL + The Pokemon Company)

Because of how small Nintendo of Australia is? We kinda have to just accept that we won't get as much specific information. We won't get our own Nintendo Directs or anything like that. In theory they can act independently of Europe, in practice? Not so much.

I agree with you totally.

But my complaint has nothing to do with Nintendo ANZ. It has to do with NintendoLife ignoring the 4th Nintendo division, techically called "Nintendo of Australia and New Zealand". Nintendo recognises that even though this part of the world has a lower global market share, it still requires it's own division of Nintendo. The least NintendoLife can do is respect that and put up the Australian times (along with the others they do) for events like major Nintendo Directs. I only ask for one time, the others in the region can work out their times. I don't live in Sydney but that's the most obvious time to list from this region.

Nintendo respects Australia enough to have a separate region for it. Sure it acts like a NoE subsiduary at times (and that's ok), it still exists. NintendoLife can't seem to also respect this fact. It's also not hard to mention the one piece of specific Nintendo ANZ information that happens every few years on the website too.

I see NintendoLife is still ignoring Australia.
It's always tough to get NintendoLife to care when they seem to not want to care at all on this issue.
I thought NintendoLife was better than this. I hope they are. I hope NintendoLife will stop this ignorance and do something about it.

@the8thark: Since the site seems to have a slight UK focus, so they might still view Ausieland as a penal colony.

Sadly it doesn't make sense why they wouldn't want to cover Australia, except when it was about the New 3DS coming to Australia. It actually made me think that Nintendo of Europe was managing Australia's releases. This lack of information is rather rude to people from Australia and this is coming from an American.

If you are truly bothered by it, you can submit a request via the Contact Form and ask Thomas and the writers.

Well if you couldn't tell from the funny accents, N-life is headquartered in the UK.
