In the "Coming Soon" section of the (NA) eShop for $3.99.

I enjoyed Outdoors Unleashed: Africa 3D enough, so I'll keep my eye on this (it's not nearly as controversial as the earlier title either, so it might appeal to a wider audience).

BTW, I don't know if the two games are related (they have two different publishers. not sure about the developers), but this appears to be running on the same engine as Outdoors Unleashed, and their logos are similar (they even use the exact same red crosshair graphic for the "3D" in their title).

Oh, I bought this game on PC for less than 2 dollars at Greenmangaming during the holiday sale. It's from eV Interactive, the same team that made Outdoors Unleashed: Africa so RR529 is right.

I don't know why, but the names were changed when it was switched to the 3DS. The original names were Remington Super Slam Hunting Africa and Remington Super Slam Hunting Alaska. I figured this one would come to the Eshop/3DS one day since Africa made it over. It's pretty much the same game as Africa except you're in Alaska with different animals. There is no hidden totems though so you just shoot at anything at moves. Dunno if I'll get it though since I did say I have it on PC already. I wanted to get Africa too for the same price but the sale disappeared when I went back to get it :( so I got it on the Eshop instead once I realized it's the same game. It's not as easy to control though as I can't use a mouse, but I still did all right.

While they're fun if you like this sort of thing, like undead_terror said I'd much prefer an actual hunting sim instead. theHunter on PC is the best one there is currently, and I'd love to see something like that on a handheld although that's never going to happen. Cabela seems to be the only developers making hunting games on consoles these days and their games are generally horrible. The Carnivores series on PSP Minis (port from a PC game) are the only true ones I know of on a handheld but I want one where I hunt deer and such too.

P.S. Can anyone tell me where the totem is in 5-7 on Outdoors Africa?? I can't find it at all.

I thought they looked similar. I guess my assumption was correct :)

As for the name changes, my guess would be either a licensing agreement that expired after the games were released on PC (I believe Remington is either a hunting or gun company), and/or publisher changes (seeing as how the two 3DS ports are handled by two different publishers).

Again, I might look into this some day, but I'm pretty behind on eShop releases (still need to DL Crimson Shroud & Gunman Clive).

If it is the same company as Outdoor Unleashed Africa, I'm in. That is a fun little rail shooter. I've killed plenty of time w/ it.

Gotta catch them... eh, nevermind.

Just don't expect it to be a realistic hunting game, and you'll be fine. I wish those types of games came out on handhelds but oh well. I guess these arcade hunting games will have to do.

I wish someone would answer my question though. Where is the totem in African Unleashed on stage 5-7?

I almost forgot. Skitrules, it's coming out this week. Here's the proof:

Hi Folks:

Wild Adventures: Ultimate Deer Hunt 3D should be up and available tomorrow. As Zodiak13 said it is a "fun little rail shooter." (Definitely not a "hunting sim.") It's our first game on the eShop, so we're pretty excited!

Can someone tell me, is this game similar to the Alaska shooter I have for the wii? I've played both the Africa and Alaska ones which I personally thought were pretty cool. I'm not really a fan of the Cabela's games and I'm kinda looking for something else to try and wondered if this would be as fun as the other ones. They're easy to play for short amounts of time and the new 3D one looks cool from what I could tell from the link Donjwolf posted above.

Plus the game's listed at like $4 and you can't really beat that, so it's probably worth it either way. Never mind guys... I'll probably just buy it for the hell of it as I need something to do anyways.

I'm kinda surprised I've never really heard about eV before. They aren't listed on the game cases anywhere, just that these games were published by Mastiff. At least the Super Slam games from what I can tell. These games have always seemed to be more fast paced which has been awesome and while the graphics haven't been the best, they're incredibly fun to play. I'm gonna buy this one simply because I don't have to deal with a crappy story and simply get to shoot stuff.

Yes, the Alaska game on the Wii is the same game that's coming to the Eshop.

Hey guys, just so you all know, users Demon9Tail and DonkeyPuncher27 are both the same guy: Ross Omland, 3D modeler and level designer for EV Interactive. There were a couple other people in here shilling as well, which is why comments have disappeared.

Hi all. I will make sure anybody from our company clearly identifies themselves. And, while "evguy" should be pretty obvious, I might forget to log in correctly and accidentally post as "Ragnarok7" from time to time.

FYI: as some have noted above, Ultimate Deer Hunt and the Africa game are ports/conversions of the Remington "Africa" and "Alaska" games on the Wii. eV Interactive designed and developed both of the Wii versions. The guys at Teyon did the 3DS conversion of the Africa game (and did a nice job!) We did the conversion of the Alaska game ourselves (and renamed it Ultimate Deer Hunt.) Both were originally intended as retail releases, but we got the rights back from our publishers and decided to go eShop instead - at quite a price cut!

We really hope the eShop gets stronger and stronger as it is a great democratizer for us small indie studios. Have fun with the game!
