Steamworld Dig is a great game, if you like Metroidvania style gameplay you'll probably really enjoy this. I've gone through the game about three times now, it really is addicting digging for upgrades, and selling the minerals to buy other upgrades.

Based on the fact that you've already made your mind up on Mutant Mudds and Gunman Clive, I think we probably might have pretty different tastes (I found both to be lackluster and pretty boring), so I probably can't help you much.
Out of those three the only one I've played is Steamworld Dig, which is pretty fun and worth considering... but the one I'd personally go for is Retro City Rampage DX (which I really want myself, but can't get thanks to it not being released in Australia yet).

Not sure if you're looking for any specific types of games or what you already have, but I always feel obliged to recommend Crimson Shroud and Mighty Switch Force! to anyone who hasn't picked both up yet, as they're the best the eShop has to offer in my opinion.
I have about 50 eShop games so I won't go into too much detail about which I like and which I don't or that could take a while. :P

I prefer Gameboy - Donkey Kong to Minis on the Move. (I wish they made a more modern one that was like that).
