If someone wants to check the unlock game modes option, it might shed light on things @labrat7

Sincerely one of my favorite games ever. Worth every penny in its original version, and now with a boatload of new levels? Yes. Please.

It was first $10 before dropping to $5 on Steam and now its on sale for Christmas at little over a dollar. At $8, that makes VVVVVV the most expensive piece of 3DSWare, though it definitely is not the best. I'm saving my money for Mutant Mudds or Sakura Samurai, both look to offer much more content than this game (which took me 2 hours to beat on PC). They should have priced this at $5, maybe then I would have bought it again. As it is, I suggest that everyone here just gets it on Steam for a fraction of the price.
This seems to come with a lot more content. Say what you will about Nintendo's pricing, the developer at least tried to give us a lot more for our money.
And it only took you two hours to beat the PC version? Did you get all the trinkets? I got a lot more gameplay out of it than 2 hours...especially after you unlock Flip Mode and other things to keep you busy.
I just beat the game, didn't go out of my way to collect everything though I did find half of the trinkets just out of luck. Can you tell me more about the additions this version has? Maybe it is worth another purchase after all.

So, I decided to get the "Doing Things the Hard Way" and "Prize for the Reckless" trinkets out of the way first, since they're some of the hardest ones. So far I have five trinkets and two crew members rescued, if you count Violet, the doctor who you always rescue first.

Still love this game. The 3D is nice, but it doesn't add anything. I got the doing things the hard way trinket...
Oh. My. God. That was hard!! I shouted out yes so loud when I finally got. The controls are nice but can't help but feel the d-pad fails me some times but it's probably me. The music is amazing as ever. Worth all 8 bucks.

Oh my god I just finished that one! Took me about a half hour of continuously dying to finally get it. ;___;

It was really hard for me the first time in the PC version, but I got it comparatively easily this time. Try it again for fun and you might find it comes a lot easier now.
Also, in the 3DS version, never try to do it one-handed.

So i just got that "Doing things the hard way" trinket.....Wanna hear something frustrating? After dying for 30-45 minutes I FINALLY got through it......except when I landed, I landed on the LEFT side of the little block. Ya know, the side YOU START ON!!!!!!! So then I had to get through it AGAIN to get the damn trinket! It only took like 10 minutes to do it again but it was still INCREDIBLY frutrating. I was so happy when I got it though! Also, the "reward for the reckless" trinket was quite difficult too! Overall I'm really enjoying VVVVVV quite a bit more than I though I would have!

I originally wasn't going to get this game because I was turned off by the price but I gave in and downloaded it. I am really glad that I did because I am really enjoying it. It is my first time playing this game but I am really impressed by it. The 3D effect is subtle, not overwhelming so it doesn't bother my eyes. The gameplay and the music are fantastic. It controls really well and the map on the lower screen is extremely helpful. It may be a bit on the expensive side but this is a quality game that should not be overlooked. The eShop needs more great games like this one.

That happened to me in the PC version. XD

Is there a "download content" option to give me hopes for future updates like new levels and a level editor? I just want to know if there is an option on the screen that hints at future DLC.
labrat7 wrote:
Wait, is there a level editor or not? People keep saying there is a level editor, isn't a level editor, might be a level editor, should be a level editor.......My head hurts.
Come to think of it. I don't think a level editor was ever in the cards. Nicalis just called it "player-created level sharing." Player-created content is what they call the extra unlockable 18 levels of VVVVVV. Odds are they'll add more levels from other players through the PC version at a later date.

I heard they can still update VVVVVV with more user-created levels/a level editor (though yeah, the latter seems unlikely). Maybe they can throw some in with a patch for the Flip Mode glitch.
