Does it still have the slowdown of the Wii VC version? I remember some pretty horrible lag when many things were happening at once.

The original NES often had that problem, so I wouldn't blame the Wii VC. If the emulation is accurate, there probably should be slowdown when several things are on the screen.

But it's not emulation; it's a port, as Arika had to re-do the game's art as polygons to create the 3D effect. So, and don't hold me to this since I haven't played this version (or game, for that matter), they probably could've fixed the lag problems the original had, since the 3DS's processing power is exponentially greater than the NES's.

Exactly.

There is absolutely no lag or slowdown in this version. No bugs at all that ive noticed and I beat the game already.

Since the Wii is much more powerful than the consoles it emulates, couldn't developers optimize the VC games to run more smoothly? Or is that too much work?

@tendo the problem is in the emulation.
Emulation means it emulates everything of the older consoles , even included glitches , sound bugs, cheating corridors etc

If you want a remastered Vc title it needs to be ported or remade ....

back on topic i finish Kirbys adventure now for the first time
And i have to say .... I probably even enjoyed it more than kirbys mass attack oO
Weird but true. The level design seemed much better and very creative. 6 different worlds all in stereo 3D and with kirby cuteness is just unbeatable.
If kirbys adventure would have some cool bonus games- not minigames like the kirby crane - then it definitely would been better than mass attack.
Just my perspective ....

As much as I love Kirby's Adventure, yet I can't see myself getting this. Too bad the eShop doesn't have sales, I'd be willing to get it for half price.

I got the game 3 days ago and it's just as I remembered- tough. what's so bizzare is that this game takes 455 blocks and Pushmo takes about 150 or something... Interesting tidbit.

I like the 3D in this game. Makes things look like paper almost :D

@KomicZ

It's not 3D if it just looks flat. When I think of "3D" I think of 3-dimensional. The way Nintendo uses the term is misleading.

Holograms, now that's real 3D, an image that you can actually see in 3 dimensions.

Oh thank you! I was worried about how much memory Pushmo would take for exactly this reason. I thought, "If Kirby takes up this much memory, imagine how much memory Pushmo would take. O_O"

Whether you want to believe it or not. It IS 3D. Nintendo is not advertising 3D based on what YOU qualify it to be.

@MrExcite
In a few levels the 3D effect is messed up. Maybe said update fixed it?

Mine keeps freezing at the exact same point; I've changed settings, turned 3D off, etc many times but it still freezes instantly upon killing the boss, requiring a hard-shutdown of the system. It seems like I should redownload it; something must be corrupted. (I've had zero freezing in my other games and no black-screens-of-death either).

The 3D in Kirby's Adventure like many have already mentioned is PERFECT. There's a lot of fantastic depth going on and lots of layers, including some great pop out effects which can be seen with ledges and many other platforms and the like. It's easily the most diverse, suprising and interesting 3D effects-wise out of the 3D Classic Lineup(not including Kid Icarus since it hasn't been release yet) It gives the game this layer of magic and i don't think i can ever imagine playing it in 2D ever again. Beautiful stuff!

And funny enough, I'm enjoying this much more than i did with the NES VC original. Just seems like a better fit on a hand held and the 3D effect makes it 3x more enjoyable. I'll Have this one finished up tomorrow, and then it's time for some Mighty Switch Force! B-)

Kirby's Adventure is one of my all-time faves. The 3D effect in this release is well implemented and definitely adds to the experience. That said, with one minor change, this game could have been so much better. You see, the play area is already formatted for wide screen. All they had to do was move the menu (which doesn't use 3D) to the bottom screen and enlarge the the rest to beautifully fill the top screen (a la Xevious). This would have been a minor modification that would not affect gameplay- the dimensions of the play area would not change at all. But instead, they gave us a tiny little game screen with unused realestate the size of Texas. Since they had to reprogram the game anyway, this omission is lazy and just plain sad. We could have had 3D pixel kirby in full-screen glory. Now we have to squint into a tiny 3D window, while the rest of the screen goes unused (there is even 2D border on the top). I repeat- the game is already ficken widescreen! Use it!!! So very disappointing. :(
