Man, this was a blast! That was the second best demo I've ever played (the first being Patapon--that demo was almost too good, you can make substantial progress and cream through the full game by the time you buy it). Getting it for sure!

@Dizzard - We got the announcement and the demo yesterday. If you're wondering if you can predict Nintendo's downloadable schedule, good luck. They may announce a title's release date several months in advance (like with Pokémon Dream Radar) or we may just learn we're getting a game with the Nintendo Download press release. It all depends on Nintendo's mood, apparently...

It was actually announced last week (NL was just uncharacteristically late in reporting it). NWR & eShop Gamers had the announcement during last week's eShop update.

On another note, I got all my Denpa Men at level 10, and have 53 potions! By the time the game launches I'm going to be good to go.

I heard that if you get game over while in a dungeon you lose all your Denpa Men and have to go catch them again. It seems a bit dodgy to me, I would probably end up putting my favourite ones in storage forever in case I lose them.

When you go back to catch them again are they back at level 1? (or whatever level you caught them) Do you lose progress on them?

@RR529 - So the demo caps your Denpa Men at Level 10?

No (not that I know of anyways). That's just what level they're currently at. Sorry for the confusion

I probably won't level up that much more before the game releases, though. I don't want to make it too easy, and the enemies in the demo are so weak it's starting to take forever to reach the next level.

Does this game actually tune into real world radio waves and create Denpa Men? At first I thought that it was just a silly excuse for why you are running around your house to catch these things but when I turned my wireless switch off, the game asked me to turn it back on as they couldn't sense radio waves with the switch off. Also, I only find the same Denpa Men over and over in my home but elsewhere find different ones. If it actually DOES read into radio waves, I think that's awesome! That meas where you are playing actually has an effect on what types of Denpa Men you find. Absolutely loving this game and can't wait until it comes out this Thursday!

Was the topic Creator going for the longest title ever or what!

I went into the demo as a skeptic but came out very optimistic! Cute fun graphics. Simple game play. Nice variety in enemies!

BTW they don't look like tellitubbies they look more like Yo Gabba Gaba.

Have the full version! Feel free to ask any questions. In the meantime definitely do level up your characters like crazy in the demo. You will need it!

@Philip_J_Reed - Enjoy yourself, good luck on the review.
I will start leveling mine up, since I guess 7 won't be good enough then.

Do the Denpa Men really vary according to the radio waves of your surroundings as bboy mentioned? Because that would definitely make the game more interesting.

All my Denpa Men are either level 11 or 12 right now, and I have an enormous stockpile of potions as well. I'll try to get them to level 14 before the full game launches, but the enemies in the dungeon are so pitiful it's starting to take forever to reach the next level.

Still, the difficulty you hinted at is intriguing & a bit surprising, given how the game's presented.

@Radixxs, I believe the game is detecting the amount of Wi-Fi signals in an area, and using that as "radiowaves" for the purpose of the game's theme. You can't collect Denpa Men with the Wi-Fi turned off (the game will actually pause, with your main Denpa Man asking you to turn it back on), and people have stated that in an area where there's a lot of Wi-Fi activity, there are more Denpa Men.

If the 3DS could actually pick up radio waves, there would likely be a radio function in the "3DS Sound" app, and I'm sure that it would have been mentioned before now (I highly doubt Nintendo would have neglected to mention this particular bit of information in every single presentation of the 3DS' capabilites).

I've got a question Philip. What is antenna root? I'm guessing a really nice surprise once the ability comes out!?

Not sure if it wifi or radio waves but I've got the best Denpa Men while driving in the car. The rare ones seem to pop up a lot more that way! Oh and yes the radio is on!

Still, that's pretty cool. I would definitely get this if it was $6.99, maybe at $9.99.

Since I'm always out and about, it makes it easy to catch more and rare Denpa men, but I don't want to look like a fool moving my 3DS all around ,to catch that rare and annoy Denpa man -_-
Too bad there isn't a easy way to get more from where you live.

It actually answers this question on the FAQ on their main website: http://www.denpamen.com/faq/index.html

I have a question I posted earlier. What happens to Denpa Men that go back to their territory after they die? Do they revert back to their original level or is your progress with them saved and you just have to pick them up?

Living in the countryside I'm a little worried about the number of Wifi hotspots determining how many Denpa Men you can catch.

^I think all uncaught Denpa Men are always in the same league as your party, level wise. When I first booted up the game, all the catchable Denpa Men were level 1. After completing the demo's dungeon, all the Denpa Men floating around were at level 5 (the same as most of my party), this includes the same ones I saw earlier, since I was in the same area. After grinding some, all the Denpa men floating around were at level 11 (again, same as most of my party). Based on that, I'd think that your progress with them (if you have to recatch them) will be intact, and if not it'll be in the same ballpark. Also, if you have any offerings, you can bring them back via the Spirit Shrine, saving yourself the trouble of catching them again.

Whew, sorry for the delay!

I will start leveling mine up, since I guess 7 won't be good enough then.

That's about where mine were toward the end of the demo...but you'll want at least level 10 to fully dig into the next dungeon, so you might as well do that now while you're waiting.

Do the dungeons get bigger and more complicated?

Bigger, yes! More complicated...it depends on what you mean by that. So far I haven't had to solve environmental puzzles or seek out keys or anything, but they do add floor hazards, optional sub areas and so on.

Do the Denpa Men really vary according to the radio waves of your surroundings as bboy mentioned?

I don't think so. I think the selection of Men randomly generates at each location you visit, regardless of what the "radio waves" actually are. Can't say for sure and the manual's not totally clear on that point, but that's my best guess.

Still, the difficulty you hinted at is intriguing & a bit surprising, given how the game's presented.

I was surprised too. There's legitimate challenge here!

What is antenna root? I'm guessing a really nice surprise once the ability comes out!?

An antenna root means that as the Man levels up, the antenna will eventually sprout and give you an ability. So far none of my roots turned out to be unique skills. I think it's just meant to show you that they're worth catching. No root: no ability, ever. Root: Random ability, eventually. Antenna: Definite ability, immediately usable. Abilities also upgrade as your Men level up...so far I haven't had a no-root sprout a root, but we'll see!

Too bad there isn't a easy way to get more from where you live.

If you wait a day or so, the stock seems to respawn. So you don't always have to seek out new places. If you do that I guess you get them sooner, but my house at first was only giving up Black, White, Green and Blue. The next time I checked was two days later, and the entire selection changed.

What happens to Denpa Men that go back to their territory after they die? Do they revert back to their original level or is your progress with them saved and you just have to pick them up?

They seem to level up along with you, at least roughly. I lost a bunch around level 8, and when I found them again (not through the shrine, but through normal hunting) they remembered me, and were around 10 or 11.

Living in the countryside I'm a little worried about the number of Wifi hotspots determining how many Denpa Men you can catch.

See my answer above. They do restock, and also, if you're not getting the ones you want, you can buy items and even clothing that can give your Denpa Men different attributes. So if you're getting all water types and need some fire types, you can basically reassign the ones you have. It may require some gold grinding, but it's possible! You'll never get totally stuck.

Why haven't you called lately? I feel like I never see you anymore.

Tell your sister to stop hanging up on me.

Anyway, ChickenBrutus Protip: If the game decides to give you an orange guy as your leader to start out with, consider restarting the game and getting a different color. Orange is weak to the attacks in the first main dungeon, and since you'll be of low level and probably with little gold, he'll get wiped out fast and regularly. I learned that the hard way. I did power through, so it's doable, but man did it get irritating!
