So, who's interested? :) Really want to hear other first impressions before getting this.

Philip gave it an 8/10, I see.

I tend to agree with Phil's reviews on platformers, so I'll be downloading this later today. Once I've played it a bit I'll post my thoughts.

I'll probably give it a try because Phil said it was good. Looks decent enough for $5 anyway.

Already bought this game & have been playing it on my 3ds xl for about an hour or two. It's very fun & addicting. :D My only complaint is I wish we could have gotten the game for $4.99 as opposed to $7.99 besides from that. I love the game already. Might download it on my little 3ds as well for on the go. ;)

Happy Gaming! (^_^)

Yup... I don't understand why it cost a little more for the US & Canada. I don't mind it but it's still a little irritating about the price differences. Over all the game is worth every penny though to download. :)

Defently awesome game! :D

I probably won't be able to get this game till next week since since it is $7.99 and not $4.99 like I thought it would be. What are the controls?

...I had no idea the price had gone up for the US. Ouch. I'm sorry to hear that...hopefully a sale will come along.

As discussed in the review the controls are very simple...circle pad and one button (you can use either A or B) to jump and swing. Very easy to pick up and play.

For anyone worried about the price its worth downloading. I'm enjoying what I have played so far. One of the best Eshop games you will find. I wish it was 4.99 I was a bit surprised at the 7.99 but I bought anyway its darn good fun

Eh, I don't think it's one of the best eShops games. That's giving it too much credit. I think it's a very solid game, but the price is a couple bucks too high. It's not much different from many $1 platformers you'll find on iOS, though obviously having buttons makes it much more playable and better overall. I think $5 or $6 would have been more appropriate.

It's fun enough, don't get me wrong. But the entire first third of the game is very easy. It starts to get difficult in the "Second Year", but by then the game is nearly half over. There are better platforming choices on the eShop (Mighty Switch Force, Gunman Clive, Mutant Mudds, heck nearly every 3D platformer). Phil's review is pretty good, but I would rate it a 7, at most. I will get a decent amount of play time out of this, but it's not like it's difficult to get all the achievements on all the levels. Two runs through a stage and you'll have them during the "First Year". To be fair, I've only played through 2/3 of the game. Maybe the last portion will give me a good challenge.

If you really like platformers (like me), it's probably worth the download. If you're on the fence, maybe hope it goes on sale down the road. I don't regret downloading it, but I wouldn't tell anyone it's a must-have.

It's funny, at that exact point in the game I started thinking of how to write the review, and was hovering around a 7. Playing further bumped it to the 8...let me know what you think because now you've got me curious. :D Also have you unlocked Turbo Mode yet? I forget when that opens up exactly, but believe me it'll give you a good challenge.

At least I hope it does...otherwise maybe I'm just bad at the game.

@Philip

I'm not sure if I unlocked Turbo mode or not lol. :D I was playing a good while with turbo off & didn't even realize it then I tapped on touch screen for turbo to go on & started playing it that way weird it's like it gives you two copies of the game to play because I have different scores & levels beat with the turbo off & the same as on. Lol loving it going to play in both on & off turbo mode. Defently been getting my money worth out of this game. So cute & addictive lol love changing the squirrels outfits to cute. :D

The game definitely has a lot of challenging levels, but that first year is so easy it gets kind of tedious. Getting the medals is pretty easy. I enjoy speed running, and I'm glad they included times for all the levels, but the vast majority of these times can be met after two or three plays on a level. I think they could have shaved off some of the speed run time for many of levels, as they leave you a lot of room for error. For example, there are a lot of levels where the speed run completion time will be, say, 45 seconds and it isn't too hard to finish it in 30. That's a pretty big gap.

However, I do have to admit that after making that initial post and getting further into the game, the challenge definitely ramps up. Figuring out the best route for some of them has been fun. The problem is, the game doesn't have that "just one more level" thing going for it, at least not for me. After 15-20 minutes I'm pretty good setting it aside for a while. Maybe it's because many of the levels look so similar--same backgrounds, same platforms, same enemies, etc. Plus, the physics, as you mentioned in the review, are a bit wonky and the hit box for some enemies seems inconsistent.

I would still give the game a solid 7. Platforming fans should get it, but I wouldn't recommend it to everyone.

I love Super Little Acorns!

and i would recommend it to anyone who likes Mighty Switch Force, Gunman Clive, Mutant Mudds or VVVVVV!

All of these platformers are great games in their own ways. and so are Super Little Acorns!

yes, there are many games like these on the ios. but its not so fun to play games with no buttons.. so i rather pay 5 euros for this game than get it for free on my ipad.

Why isn't anyone talkiong about this game?! You can't beat this game for 3.99. Very fun and even though its been easy so far doesn't take away the fun! I think this is worlds better then Mutant Mudds as there is so much more to it for me. Pick this up people the price is right!

Yeah, I enjoyed it. It's definitely on the easy side, though. I 100%ed it, but it took a while. A lot of content.

I definitely would not say it's better than Mutant Mudds. Not even close. But definitely worth $4.
