There has been much discussion about this in chat. Seems a common problem.

I haven't encountered such a thing myself. I hope I don't either because I'm really enjoying the game.

I'm stuck, can't get beyond a, little loading... in the bottom corner and then the power or home button freezes the system. It's upsetting as I want to give this a try.

I just noticed something on my 6th re-download, the game says it takes 460 blocks to download but my download copy only has 457 blocks. Where are my 3 blocks of memory!? Check this everyone having trouble, this might be the error.

That's not an error. Most downloads overestimate the download space needed. I dunno why, but it's normal.

user WolfRamHeart had this to say earlier --
I can't get it to boot up past the loading screen. I called Nintendo Customer Service and was told they are aware of the issue and are working to resolve it. It is supposedly an isolated issue so if you managed to purchase it and are playing it then you are one of the lucky ones.
looks like it's hit or miss. i'm wondering if i should try my luck tonight or not... still undecided D:
also, lz is correct — i used to notice that all the time while downloading stuff on the Wii. :3

I'm sure Nintendo will fix it. It would be absurd to just let people who paid for the game just not have access to it and let it be.

@bboy2970 - That's what I'm thinking, it would be very un-nintendo of them. But waiting a week for it, I can see that.

It seems upgrading your SD card might fix it. I still have the 2 gig one that came with it and the game runs fine but it may be an issue of little extra space (I'm not sure why that would be an issue though.) Maybe try deleting one of the demos or some of the trailers, that may fix it for you.

Yupp, using a new sd card worked!

Aside from this little bug ordeal, how are you guys liking the game so far? IGN awarded it with a 9.0.Man, it's so hard to keep up with all of these games. nintendo's nailing it out of the park with these 3DSWare releases.
The NES 3D Classics, Pushmo, Mighty Switch Force, Mutant Mudds and now this.

Well I'll delete the resident evil demo, but I already got rid of the other to download it, still should not being doing this I have over 750 blocks of space left and I'm planning on getting a new sd card this weekend to replace to 2 gig one. However I'll be trying this later.

It is really fun but sometimes they blur out the background a ton. The villages and first boss battle don't use any blur and they look great but sadly most of the game looks kind of meh. Of course, graphics are the least important part and the gameplay is great. In the first section, there are two enemy types, one with a sword and the other with a spear and some of them have armor too. Surprisingly, it never felt repetitive which was my main concern going in. Judging by the trailers, there will be lots more added and the game should only get better from here. From my first impressions, I say buy it!

Well, I deleted a bunch of stuff off my SD card but unfortunately the game still won't launch for me. I have 1,510 blocks of free space. Not sure how much space is required to get it to run. I guess that I will purchase a new, bigger SD card tomorrow. Hopefully that will work but if not then I will just have to wait for Nintendo to fix it.

I saw this from gamefaqs from one of the users posting the same problem:
From: johnnyb771 | #028Just got off the phone with Nintendo about the Sakura Samurai problem. They are now aware that there is a problem and the "Higher Ups" have been notified. They are not sure but think there may be a server problem in some regions and they are working on the situation. The said to wait a few hours and try to download again, if that doesn't work try late at night and if still no luck to call back tomorrow as they want to to take care of this issue as soon as possible.
Spoke to a couple of people and they were extremely helpful and friendly as Nintendo always is. I expect the problem to be fixed pretty quick. They even thanked me for my feedback and helping them bring this problem to light so that they can fix it. I guess guys, my advice is just to be a little patient. I have never had this problem before either, and as bad as I want to play this game I guess I am going to have to be a little patient. not sure what happened, but at least we know Nintendo is on top of things. Hope this helps
So Nintendo is aware and are working on a fix for people having problems..
