Has anyone played Pokemon Shuffle yet? How intrusive are the micro-transactions?

People keep saying the Xbox One doesn't have Backwards Compatibility.
I don't think they know what Backwards Compatibility means...

I have played the first four levels, and I like it so far. It looks a lot like Trozei, but it's not at all like it.

The microtransactions seem like they won't be too intrusive, unless you totally want to play 60 levels in a single sitting.

I can see someone buying gems to try and catch a pokemon once and for all, since it's mostly luck based, but other than that the game can be played completely fine without paying.

For me, personally, I just want something to kill time for when Puzzles and Dragons comes out. I was playing Battle Trozei but the grinding is killing me. I hope Shuffle will be a good distraction until Puzzles and Dragons and not be as grindy as Trozei was.

It's a lot more relaxing than Trozei. So there's that.

After you get mega audino you can use the online features of the game to download special missions.

The current one is Mew, I almost beat it on my first try

Yeah, this game will likely become almost impossible to play in a while without paying money. That's how these games reel you in.

I'm liking it so far. I tend to play in small sessions and Pokémon Shuffle is perfect for that. Beat Mew on the first try but wasn't able to catch it (10% catch rate without bonus, 20% with a great ball which I didn't use). I wouldn't have bought another Pokémon puzzle game so it was perfect time for them to make it free.

I programmed a simple tool that copies all Switch screenshots from an SD card and places them to folders according to the game:

Liking it so far but I am really annoyed that they used hearts instead of potions, pokéballs, or something more relevant

I'm thinking of getting it, but I'm not gonna give into the micro-transactions. They make me sick to my core, honestly.

There is nothing here...except for the stuff I just typed...

It's not bad. I'm up to stage 25 currently and I haven't been in a spot where I Need to buy gems. Haven't even use my in-game currency yet. I'll let you know how the streetpass part goes once I pass someone that have it game (7 pass today so far with none).

Btw since surprisingly no one here mention it, there is also EX stages (expert mode) in which you have a unlimited move to beat the stage but the trade off is you have a time limit. Depending on the Pokémon the amount of time you get varies. This one is more fast pace and plays like Trozei, minus the Trozei part.

I streetpassed someone with it, and it gave me a gem, which was nice.

The game is fine, and it's a good game when you have a couple of minutes. I definitely do not see myself ever paying for a gem though. A buck for 5 hearts is way too pricey. I managed to get MewTwo on the first try, though I got a little lucky. My capture rate was 38% and still got him. Another time my capture rate was 95% and didn't get the Pokemon. The Mega evolutions or whatever (sorry, not a Pokemon fan so I don't know all the jargon yet) are where it's at. They'll get you through the levels, so focusing on matching them usually leads to victory.

Ok. there is WAY too much hand holding. I want that lady to stop talking and to let me play and figure it out.

I'll probably still try this out despite the constant waiting that's assumed (and brought up by Nintendo Life). Still, I feel like I'd rather just buy Battle Trozei and play that. Microtransactions leave a bad taste in my mouth, even if the game is free.

This game is so different compared to Battle Trozei and I love it. I love how the focus is on Puzzle Solving instead of fast paced action. I can think about each move for maximum efficiency. The Hearts haven't really bothered me yet and I was able to catch Mew my first try with only about 20% chance lol

It's called a tutoríal, it will stop after there's nothing new to introduce you to.

The hand holding is over fairly quickly, and it makes sense to have it here since many kids will be playing this.

For those not sure what to do with the gems the game gives to you: use them on coins, it's frankly a much better value than wasting them on lives or extra turns.

Ok, and when does the recommended move outline disappear.
