I hope NLife makes a point of addressing the online multiplayer features, whenever they produce the review. Hopefully, the server will be more active by then. I was led to believe that Planet Crashers featured cross-platform online multiplayer, so you would think the server's activity would be more plentiful.

I enjoy simple RPGs to an extent, so I might like this. In fact, having to press a button to do more damage makes it sound less appealing to me, because then I actually have to pay attention during battles instead of zoning out.

I'm actually surpised to find out its an RPG...I thought it was another stupid puzzle game. :P

It only requires 645 blocks of memory. How the hell could of this originally been a retail title, with a tiny file size like that? Order Up! requires almost 3,000 blocks of memory!

I know that @Mickeymac. They were both previously available for pre-order on Amazon for $29.99. I'm saying, look at the difference in the file size between the both of them. Planet Crashers seems rather small in size, compared to Order Up!

It's got 3 stars now and nintendo world report gave this game a 7.5/10. I decided that I'll buy it. If I can get 10 hours of enjoyment from this game for $10 then it's well worth the money.

@Nintenbro - That's about 81 MB, which isn't that bad. Renegade Kid's pretty good with data compression; I know that Mutant Mudds is 137 blocks, which is only 17 MB. A lot of 3DS games are nowhere near their file size limits of 2 GB; for example, SM3DL is only .33 GB, which would be near 2,600 blocks. Don't let a game's file size dictate its value to you; good things can come in small packages.

Exactly.

That's no moon. It's a dwarf planet!

So, without spoilers, how is the story? I'm not expecting anything anywhere near Xenoblade Chronicles, but I would appreciate an intellegence level closer to Avatar: The Last Airbender than Spongebob.

Ash: Professor Oak, how's your Bulbasaur?
Prof. Oak: Oh, it only hurts when I sit.
...
Prof. Oak: It's only Chansey if Krabby won't let go. Bye, now.
Ash: I don't think I'm going to call him anymore.

Little to none, the only storyline is from a guid that you see once each planet and from random people when you want side quests...the whole game is a side quest.

@Nintenbro I haven't actually played the multiplayer myself (it's always empty when I look) but it appears that you probably just battle against the other person.
Nothing too exciting there.

I played for four hours last night and ended up on level 14 and just moved to the third major planet.
Each time you go up a level there will be someone with a new quest for you to unlock a new weapon and sometimes a new ability.
As well as those quests, you can do a ton of side quests from the bulletin board which reward you in gold.
It didn't take me long to stop bothering doing the bulletin board quests and just focus on the main ones, because they're all basically the same and it's really not that exciting.
Plus there's not much to do with your gold besides just stock up on potions and maybe items to give a temporary boost to strength and defence.

Also, it's best to try not to die.
When you do, you lose half of your gold and half your supply of one of your items.

Ouch that sucks the death penalty is pretty steep :/
It really looked like from the trailer the online interaction was pretty minimal. It'd be awesome if you could co-op or something, but I got the impression you just battle each other. What's the point? Do you get anything? Or do you just get creamed by someone who is farther in the game than you?
I'm still curious about this game, its been getting better reviews than I expected so far. I do like light RPGs. My main other question is can you save frequently so you can pick up and play for short periods?
Maybe that's why it didn't hit retail as a cart, they couldn't get some of the extra stuff to work out well.

It's an odd game, for sure. It's weird how there are no touch screen controls at least in checking through the menu. It really feels like a cheap smartphone game but I'd say better than Zenonia, that game had poor controls and music that loops every 5 seconds; yet this one shares the same music looping problems- just a bit more bearable.

So far, I'm neutral with this game.

@Kitsune_Rei It saves automatically after each time you complete a quest, which really doesn't take very long.
Plus you can save at any time you like in the overworld.

Another slightly strange design choice is how they added a 60 second time limit for you to make your move.
Normally, it'll only take you a few seconds so the only way that comes into play is if you get distracted by something else while playing.
I didn't notice it at first and I went to do something on my laptop during the middle of a battle and all of a sudden the enemy attacked me again. :P
I can understand it being there for multiplayer battles, but it seems pretty unnecessary in the single player game if you ask me.

Another strange thing is that after some quests it takes you back to the overworld automatically, whereas with others you have to run all the way back through the dungeon yourself.
There doesn't seem to be any consistent basis as to which quests take you back automatically and which ones don't and it's really annoying when you have to run all the way back. D:

Oh, and Typhoon Punch is awsesome (you get it at level 14). :P
Best move so far by a mile, if you do it right it does a ton of damage.
The only downside is that means the enemies can use it too, so you have to be careful.

I'm definitely still on the fence for this one. How is the character customisation? I know that on the trailer they plugged this feature like crazy, but it only seemed to be cosmetic changes and nothing which really altered the gameplay. Also is the dungeon design fun? It seemed like the planets got a lot of thought put into them, but no promotional images gave much attention to what the dungeons were like.

@oiiopo There's not really much to the character customisation that I can see.
You get to choose the name, gender, hair, eyes, mouth, skin colour, top and bottom and there's no way to change the colour of the hair, eyes or clothing.
The only thing that changes your stats is your equipped weapon, which you get a new one of each time you complete one of the main quests (there's one each time you level up) and each one is just 10 damage stronger than the last one.

As for the dungeons, each world (well, nearly all of them) have a green, blue and red dungeons.
They all look basically the same, which is very bland and boring.
