I was looking at my data n'stuffs when I noticed Nintendo Video in my extra data category of my 3DS. I saw the number of blocks it took up, and it was a whopping 2,439 blocks! Why does Nintendo Video take up this much space if they delete videos every now and then? I feel bad for those who lost their SD cards...

The reason NV takes up approximately 300 MB of data is because of the video sizes themselves. It takes up a lot of data to store 3D videos, the audio, etc, and storing 4 videos, even if they're only 4 minutes long each, can take up a large amount. If you're worried about not having a lot of space for eShop downloads, photos and everything else, I recommend upgrading the 2GB card that came with the 3DS to something like a 8GB or 16GB card. Or you could always delete NV, miss out on the videos, but have plenty of room on your SD card. Your choice.

Exactly.

Just delete it. That's what I did. seeing as the video stuff i like is on the eshop and seperate downloads. (trailers and the nintendo show)

I haven't tried it much, but there was one cartoon I liked, where this guy would draw pictures on a chalkboard, zap it with this machine, and bring it to life. Nothing else I've seen has made me want to watch.

Is there really a need to delete it though? The SD card has plenty of room.

It's definitely on the top of my list to delete when/if i need the space. I've been thoroughly underwhelmed by the service thus far with a few exceptions (the new Dreamworks shorts are good). Since i don't need the extra space yet, it'll stick around for now.

Lindsey Stirling is as awesome as She-Ra. Perhaps even more so.

lol, 3D Machine or whatever, I liked that one too. Night of the Living Carrots is awesome too, gotta love DreamWorks.
But yeah, it doesn't really bother me much since I have a 8GB card. (and I use that for crap-loads of music too, lol)

I haven't even heard of Nintendo video until just now. O.o
/me needs to get out more

Anyway it seems pretty obvious, if it's taking too much space just delete it, and if you have a phobia of deleting stuff just buy a bigger SD card.

Whoa! I just assumed it took up barely any space at all, but 2,439 blocks?! Couldn't we just get a video app that didn't give us Blue Man Group 3D?

3D machine was awesome. If more cartoons like that kept coming in, I'd never delete my Nintendo Video.
Liking the dreamworks shorts too.
The Blueman stuff is entertaining, but weird.
I actually really liked the feeding time for the Gorillas video... I'm just an Animal person though.
The rest of it was trash... oh... except for that one crazy video that looks like your on a train but then the City is all ":wooooooaaah" and stuff.

You know, with how Nintendo's animation is in games like Mario Power Tennis along with SEGA's own CG stuff like in the Mario and Sonic games, this would be a perfect opportunity for Nintendo to start making some sort of cartoon short about their first party characters.

I'm in the general opinion on the comments here, aside from the 3D machine, among a few select other videos, Nintendo Video is pretty underwhelming.

Probably the best thing to do is get a bigger SC card. Then you really don't need to worry about how much space it takes up.

But also on that note .... I think the videos they've had in the UK have been really lame. I don't think I've watched one all the way through yet. The advertisement for it shows Shaun the Sheep and other fun looking things. But what do we get? Magic tricks and an orchestra warming up. The animated cartoon they show is pretty dull as well. I've not made it through one episode yet.

They're going to be releasing Kid Icarus anime shorts next year before Uprising releases, so I'm sure Mario and Zelda will get similar treatment at some point.

Nintendo Video takes up space because it plays up to four 3D videos that have varying length. Not only that, but it takes some power to download those four 3D videos simply by using spotpass at any area with Wi-Fi.

Remove it, or at least disable it from auto-grabbing the videos. It won't download unless you go in there, then it will just go and go until it gets all the stuff displayed on screen which is kind of dumb. I erased all the content but left the channel empty on there.

It would be nice to be able to save the videos or if they would upload them online.
I'm sure I will want to re-watch the Kid Icarus shorts.

Man, would I love to pound some 3D Shaun the Sheep through my supervision Lasik eyes! What a freakin' lousy tease from NOE to be, er, shown Shaun and get 3D orchestra. At least here in the States they had the decency to NOT show us S the S and then not give it out.

I don't think you're appreciating the videos you're getting enough. While you get to see an orchestra, we get lame hot air balloons. :|

I have quite a bit of extra room in my SD card, and I still didn't find it worth it to keep Nintendo Video. I'm not sure why they make this channel and the Nintendo Week videos on the shop channel so generic and bland. You're Nintendo! Add videos about Nintendo! Don't make the weekly show take place in a gray room, make it take place in the mushroom kingdom, or a room with games in it! Make it feel like Nintendo!
