Nintendo is really getting on my nerves lately. I've been patiently waiting for nearly 2 1/2 months saving my eShop credit for 3D Sonic 1 and SMB3. I thought it was really generous of Sega to at least give their game a release date. But Nintendo for SMB3? They couldn't even bother! Let's see, it was slated for a Wii U and 3DS release in August, along with a bunch of other titles. All those games announced for re-releasing at the August Nintendo Direct are now released, except for... guess what? Super Mario Brothers 3.

Just last week, when I saw SMB3 was listed in the eShop, I thought Nintendo would finally soften up and give us the title we've been asking for. Instead, we get freaking Wario's Woods. WOW. No one wants that garbage over SMB3! Nintendo needs to stop putting their projects aside! I'm tired of this. Nintendo is just finding excuses to put off that game. It makes no sense because SMB3 is higher in demand and was released BEFORE Wario's Woods. Come on, Nintendo.

It got me thinking too. Nintendo's been doing this A LOT lately. They delayed Pikmin 3 (but was eventually released), they delayed Flipnote Studio 3D and have given us absolutely no words on a release date for it, they delayed Donkey Kong Country Tropical Freeze, and they've really been just testing my patience lately. I'll continue to wait for SMB3 and all the other titles they postponed, but the wait is ridiculous. Does anyone else feel the same? :(

Nope. I don't think they are "finding excuses" to release Super Mario Bros 3. Besides, it technically was never "delayed" because it was never given a date in the first place.

Although you're right, we have been waiting for the game to come out for many months already, at least we know it is coming very soon. I mean, it's already on the Eshop listed for future releases, right? When it is on the Eshop then it HAS to come out within weeks, especially before Super Mario 3D World getting released soon.

My best guess is that Nintendo will release it on the 14th, one day before the PS4 comes out to get some sales in before the event occurs; that would be the BEST business move!

If you remember Nintendo's track record on the Wii VC, it will come when you least expect it.

So don't expect it to come this Thursday ;) (if you know what I mean)

So let me guess you are complaining that Nintendo is delaying games so that way they release a good product to you rather then a product full of bugs? Let me guess again you would be one of those people the would complain that a game is full of bugs and unplayable if they were to release it on time with all the bugs.

The is no pleasing some people.

Wasn't Luigi's Mansion 2 supposed to come out in 2012, and wasn't Kid Icarus also meant to come out in Q4 2012?
Nintendo all ways pushes back release dates, to perfect them.
It's not a bad thing.

Sometimes they'll find some glitches or bugs in the game that need to be fixed, or add something special for the fans. It's always worth the wait.

Well, the controls and the graphics (I don't care about graphics, but I don't want the image stretched) I guess.

Judging by the amount of stuff that needs patches seems Nintendo now has the same problems that they never had up to this point. (Lack of play testing I think is the problem).

Except nowadays you can just patch stuff in. Gran Turismo 5 is a pretty good example. Remember the insane patch that it had the day that Forza 4 came out? Crazy amount of stuff added. Then you have virtually every online game out there. Look at Final Fantasy XIV.

As long as it isn't unplayable, maybe Nintendo should be willing to put out some of their stuff. Pretty much every publisher gets away with it.

@ClassicSonicFan Nintendo delaying VC games is probably for economic reasons. If they go out and put out every good game on VC, who's going to bother with the lesser stuff like Wario's Woods and the terrible stuff like Urban Champion? People will just download a ton of the great games and be set for a very long time. Then there's the issue of trying to maintain demand in VC, so that people are coming back every week to see a new game. Then there's Nintendo trying to not compete too much with themselves with their current releases, as well as keeping consumer attention at 3rd parties as well.

It's a tricky balance.

Last Dec 2012 they released mario game for nes in the 3ds e-shop I think & it came out in Dec there probably holding off til thanksgiving or christmas. That'd be my guess. & half of my games that I wanted have gotten delayed this year to later dates too. So let's not even go there... Only thing to do is wait it out & move on.

Happy Gaming! (^_^)

I'm more annoyed with the Scribblenauts games, Unlimited is still not released in the UK and Unmasked hasn't even got a release date. I'm also annoyed that London Life was removed from the UK release of Professor Layton and the Spectre's Call just so it could meet it's release date, at the very least they could of included it in the Miracle Mask or as a an eshop/ware game.

Except releasing glitchy games can harm the brand even if patches are made. Nintendo likes a lot of polish in their games and I say that's a good thing.

Well, I mean, SMB3 has already been made. All Nintendo needs to do is re-emulate it. They're honestly just putting it off and being lazy.
@moomoo Well, they don't have to re-release games that they know aren't very good. Those lesser games probably wouldn't sell even with SMB3 around.

I do believe that "lazy" has become the next overabused term. You make it sound like they are procrastinating on Super Mario Bros 3.

It's just porting a game to an emulator with a few VC specs, what's so haard to make?
