Even though Mario & Luigi Dream Team pretty much stole the spotlight at the new Nintendo Direct, I'm still super-psyched for this game. Not only is it the first 3D entry to the franchise (not only stereoscopic 3D but in a 3D view as well) but it's the first 3DS eShop-only Mario title. This game has all new 3D gameplay with all the Mini characters you loved in the past, and has a new Level Editor, lots of levels, and a new brawl between Mario and Donkey Kong. This game will take the series to new heights by bringing the games into a 3D view just as Super Mario 64 did for the Super Mario franchise. This game will come out on an unspecified date in 2013.
You know who's doing it from the 'edited by' line at the bottom. We do not allow 'official' threads posted by non-staff at Nintendo Life, it's either the title is changed or your thread is deleted. Do it again and I will do the latter. — TBD
I see. Sorry about that.

I would rather have this game in retail/boxed form, but still, I enjoined the series and this new one looks great, so i'll download it once it comes out.

I think this game will be great. We really needed an eShop exclusive Mario game. I'm glad they are making sequels to original DS games because I thought since the 3DS is almost as powerful as the Wii they would start making sequels of Wii games instead of DS games. (Super Mario 3D Land being a Galaxy 2 follow up rather than a 64 DS follow up, Paper Mario Sticker Star being a Super Paper Mario follow up rather than a Mario & Luigi 3 follow up, Pokemon Rumble Blast a sequel to to Pokemon Rumble, Potzols Puzzle a follow-up to Thruspace, Mario Kart 7 a follow up to Mario Kart Wii, and I could go on.) This game will be great.

I don't really have anything constructive to add to the discussion other than that I WANT THIS GAME SO BAD! I am seriously so pumped for it.

It looks more interesting than most of the previous games but I'll pass unless it's particularly great. As usual, not because of the game itself but more because there's like 1000 other games I still need to get.

These Mini games are alright but I wish Nintendo would start making them like the first MvDK game.

Holy crap those videos explained SO MUCH. As amazingly excited as I am for this game, I really didn't understand how it was going to work or how the gameplay would be similar. NOW I get it!

This looks fun to me. I've enjoyed the other Mario/Donkey Kong games (going all the way back to the Gameboy DK) and for $10 it looks like you get a lot of content.
