So I got a big surprise when out of nowhere they release a Japanese 3d shooter from Suda51 and Level5! My copy is downloading as I write this, how's everyone finding the game? From the trailer the cutscenes and graphics look pretty decent for a download title.

That's because it's retail. In Japan, it was released on cart (with three other titles, by other renound devs) as Guild01.

They're just splitting up the 4 Guild01 titles, and releasing them individually on eShop in the west.

Once this hits the States, I'll definately DL it, and possibly Crimson Shroud (another of the Guild01 titles) as well. Hope you have fun with it!

I can't believe Nintendo decided to let them do this. It's awesome that the games get released individually. Why isn't in America yet though? D: I wanna plaaaay!

The controls are very strange, but I can see why they would work. It's the circle pad to turn and move, L button to strafe and the targeting reticule is moved with the touch screen. I'm not sure if it has CPP support, otherwise it might just be like Dillon's Rolling Western all over again for left handers

great idea to release it as an eshop title along with the other guild01 games.

I downloaded it about 2 hours ago and I'm loving it controls I thought were a bit odd at first but now I love it, I love shooting more than one enemy at once, shame theres no option for Japanese language though

i dont know if i should download it. i dont have kid icarus and i cant believe playing the game with that controlls can be comfortbale. i wanna get this game just for the awesome style! there need to be more japanese games like thie released in the west. hope for a sequel.

It's great that we'll get the guild 01 games, I'm specially interested in crimson shroud although I'm considering liberation maiden as my next download.

How long does it take to finish it? I don't usually replay games so it's an important issue to me.

This is a Suda game, and a download title, so it'll take you 40 minutes to finish, and about 3-4 hours to 100%. But trust me in that there is not a dull moment in any of those 3-4 hours.

I tried looking up some gameplay and boy was it disappointing. Way too much "WOOP! MEGAMAN! MEGAMAN!" BS. Maybe it was just because it was ghe first level, but now I'm not so sure on this anymore

You may as well stop playing games made after 2006 if you're gonna complain about a game having a tutorial level...

I didn't look for more gameplay, so I'd just like to know if the rest of the game is like that. I guess it's fine if it's just the first level, but seriously. Dialogue pops up, ends, and then literally 2 seconds later more gameplay interrupting dialogue pops up?! Why end the first section then!?!
I wasn't complaining the game started with a tutorial heavy level. I was just worried the whole game would be like that.

Also, in the video I watched, I think it asks if you want the interruptions or not in the first level.

Yeah, that's a tutorial level for ya. I can't imagine the entire game would be like that.

from what ive heared and read about the game:
after you beat a stage you can play it in stageselectmode. i dont think the tutorial popups will be there then.

Did anyone else see the upcoming game feature in the eshop, when it shows liberation maiden it says $0.00. I hope this is a truthful mistake
