The world desperately needs more 3D platformers so I approve of this. Never got to play the original but it looked pretty fun.

I think I'll actually jump into this one. I played the WiiWare demo but never did get the actual game. Shinen has a great record so far, so I'm going to continue and support them.

I loved the WiiWare game, as short as it was (Maybe 3 hours)

Seeing what they did with Art of Balance: Touch gives me high hopes for game content.

While it will probably wind up being a little too short, for as high quality of a product put out by Shin'en in the past (Art of Balance), I'll probably get this. I always love me a good platformer.

Exactly.

The 3DS desperately needs more 3D platforming games, so I hope this turns out to be a good one.

@Hale-Boop Especially the eShop, and I don't mean retail downloads.

Classic Sonic will always be the number 1 Sonic! I think Modern Sonic's great but will never beat my original Classic Sonic.

As long as it's a bit longer I'm good. Jett Rocket was a breath of fresh air.

I found the first one a little bit bland. But worst of all was that there was some kind of bug that made it impossible to finish.

I'm definitely going to get this if it heads to our eShop, more 3D platformers would be great for the 3DS, especially after Super Mario 3D Land now everyone can agree that was a brilliant Mario game!

except all the people that don't agree (including me, though I did quite like it)

you're expecting people to agree on the internet?

I'm going into this assuming you're not sarcastic btw.

Well I certainly wasn't being sarcastic and I certainly wasn't looking for smart ass comments, but c'mon 3D Land was brilliant fun, it's funny you think people can't agree when I see it all the time. Hey I know people complain that Mario games seem to be all the same, but that's not true, but we can agree that for example that COD games are pretty much the same thing every year with minor improvements.

As someone who holds a high regard for the 3D platforming genre, SM3DL really disappointed me. I just couldn't get into it like I wanted. There was just something so sterile and generic about it. There's no sense of exploration. The levels are over before you know it. The controls don't feel good at all. The camera angles, despite the 3D effect, made it really difficult to time various maneuvers with ultimate precision. The character's momentum is like trudging through molassess on a lake of ice. I just couldn't like the game no matter how hard I tried to like it. All I kept thinking was, someone please somewhere give me the real spiritual sequel to Super Mario 64 already, please! It just didn't feel like a classic Mario game should feel.

Has there been a release date on this yet. Looking forward to this one as I really liked the last!

Really looking forward to this. I 100 %'d the original on Wiiware back when it came out. Like how the original tried to rival games like Super Mario Galaxy, I'll expect this one to rival Super Mario 3D Land. Or, possibly, surpass since 3D Land's novelty ran off pretty quickly for me. ( Me playing it at Gamestop a couple months before getting it:"Oh cool, the Tanooki Suit is back....yayayayay...oh...now it's just another platforming romp").

Just a few screens, and by the looks of it, this will be a 2.5D/3D platformer hybrid:

I'm not thrilled about the 2.5D. Was hoping for more of the same from the first. Not saying its going to be bad. It still could be a good game. I might wait for a review now before I jump on board! I will say those images do look excellent though. They definitely know how to do graphics.
