More and more, I realize that if the eShop wants to succeed it needs more content. If they want to slowly roll out the VC games that's fine, but surely Nintendo could hold an internal contest for making awesome $1.99 games in a week or less so they can get more 3D games on the eShop. With no nostalgia factor for me, I'm having a hard time getting into monochrome Game Boy games (meanwhile, I've been playing the heck out of the NES Ambassador games), and most of the DSiWare games that I'm interested in are more expensive ones I don't have time to play right now.
The two best ways to drive sales of digital content are to A) have the content to begin with; and B) have sales to help get the games out there and spread word of mouth about the gems. A good demo can also do a lot, but for some reason Nintendo keeps saying "they're coming" when they could already be here if they would stop sitting on their hands.
