The demo of this game has me very conflicted. While the game is amazingly well made and beautiful graphics for a 3DS downloadable game, that boss at the end of the demo was WAY too hard. I only know that's the end of the demo because I looked it up afterwards. The two proper levels apart from that, while pretty difficult when you start off, were really fun. I spend about 20 minutes trying to get gold on the Pokemon stage, and I didn't get bored or particularly angry at it at all!

But that's because that level didn't feel cheap (apart from the enemy behind the wall), but that boss was extremely cheap and not fun at all. If that is the first boss, it would probably take me a good 5 hours to beat what will eventually be the final boss. And I don't know if I want to buy a game (that's pretty expensive for a eShop game), that I'll likely just give up at.

The game itself is probably very good, and it is filled to the brim in character, but I don't think I'll be getting it, which makes me kinda sad...

I liked everything except the boss fight. It wasn't so much hitting the little bees back at the big bee, but the dodging parts with the control pad that really got me, so I took too many tries. However, the other hardest part of the demo, the Pokemon stage, was not that bad and I never died in it. That mainly took following the rhythm and not visuals, so I wasn't bothered by the sudden appearance of enemies off-screen. The art style of the game is very nice.

So I'm still getting this game.

It's not the first boss. Buy the game!

Funnily enough, I beat the boss on my first try. I didn't think it was terribly difficult but maybe if I played it again.
I really enjoyed the demo though, it seems like my kind of rhythm game and it was pretty addicting.

I have a horrible sense of rhythm, so I found it hard :/

My SD Card with the game on it is just as physical as your cartridge with the game on it.
I love Nintendo, that's why I criticize them so harshly.

What's everyone talking about?
The boss didn't even hit me at all on my first try.
I thought it was the easiest part of the demo ( although it was all pretty easy, got gold straight away on both levels).

The only thing that took me a little while was to try to get both my scores perfect.

Just 1 day left!

They don't do midnight releases for eShop-only games do they?

Strange, it seems like EVERYBODY has had trouble with that final boss. I only got hit by 1 bee the entire time - it really didn't seem that difficult to me!

Oh well, time for me to download!

@Bazly Tell me about it, I didn't get hit at all.

Just started the game now, so awesome.
Looks like I might not be getting much sleep tonight.

Ok, I just started the third world.

I am having a really great time with this game. The music-themed world is pleasant and lively, the story is much better than what I was expecting, the songs are a blast to play, and the boss battles get really fun when you try to perfect them for that Great rating. Unlocking faster versions of all the levels (including boss levels) effectively doubles the length of the game.

I think it's well worth the $15 to anyone on the fence about getting it. In time you get pretty well accustomed to the timing.

My only slight complaint is that in the early worlds (I've only got around to completing the first two), it's way too easy to get a Great rating on all the stages.
Even on the stages that I felt that I did really poorly on, I'd still get a great every time so I didn't have to try anything twice besides the occasional boss battle where I might screw up a note.
In saying that, I'm sure it'll change as the game gets harder and during the fast versions.

I've actually found myself doing better on the faster versions. Probably a combination of not overthinking the timing and knowing the song the second time around.
