I don't know if this is just my bad luck, but i'm getting an error message when my Australian 3DS tries to connect with the eShop.

Error code 005-5691

Is anyone else getting this, or am I going to have to get my 3DS repaired? The rest of the Internet functions seem to be working fine...

Looks like DSiWare is working fine on my old DSi. Great, this is not looking good.

Mine is doing the same (UK account), I've seen other people say they've connected fine, hopefully its just a bit of a glitch that can be fixed quickly. At worst I'd imagine they could do a system update if they needed to.

Last week eShop was updated around 2pm (UK time) so it may well be the same time today.

Searched WaltzElf's error code on Nintendo's support site and this is what came up:

An error occurred while attempting to connect to the Nintendo eShop. Please try again later.

So, the eShop's probably updating, or a bunch of people are checking to see if the eShop has updated yet. I'd just wait a bit and try again.

Exactly.

Except I've been getting that error all day.

Also, Nintendo's support website is crap. Repeating the error message I see on my 3DS =/= support.

I'm glad I'm not the only one experiencing the problem though. Two people on this forum suggests it's an error on Nintendo's side of things.

Thats what it says on the screen, but it doesn't seem likely because others can get on fine, I've tried about 6 or 7 times today and not been able to. It doesn't seem like its actually getting far at all, like it might be stuck thinking its down but it isn't actually.

I did wonder about deleting the eShop extra data and seeing if that will reset it (already tried changing my WiFi settings), but I'm not entirely sure what that will get rid of.

I had an error connecting a few weeks ago, but it fixed after I waited a bit and rebooted. I not sure if it was the same one though.

So I rang Nintendo, and they don't seem to think it's a problem with my 3DS. They suggested either changing the router channel to improve the stability of the connection, or simply waiting a day or two.

Just wondering, before you got the error, had your 3DS been sitting on its cradle turned on for a long time?

Wonder if that might be a cause...but I'm sure others have done the same.

Still getting the error here.

So am I. I'm pretty much resigned to the fact I'm going to have to send it to Nintendo to get fixed.

Ive been having the 005-5691 error too for over a week now. I did transfer some dsi games over bu that doesnt even work anymore. My housemate can get onto the store on her 3DS without a problem so it cant be the internet connection. (browser works for me normally) any dsi game transfer glitched it maybe. Hope someone found out more by now, because this is just a plain annoying error. (I live in the Netherlands btw)

Edit: router channel changes dont work either btw

I have this problem too. Using different wifi spots has no effect. I emailed Nintendo support on Friday, so hoping I get some help from them. Been getting the for nearly a week. Was okay last Monday I believe. I am in the UK. I have transferred loads of dsiware games in one go, I am thinking that may be the cause.
