I didn't see this discussed anywhere, so I thought I would make a topic. For those of you who have played the prototype levels of Crashmo, especially the later ones, do you agree that this will potentially be seen in an original Zelda 3DS?

I think it has been mentioned that an original 3DS Zelda game would resemble a link to the past. What's more 2D Zelda than block pushing puzzles? In FULL 3D? Some of the later prototype levels, such as the tree house and the floating castle, strike me as a hybrid of link to the past and Minecraft. I'm also gonna go ahead and bet that the 'new' link looks just like the original artwork from the original Zelda - his aspect ration would be perfect for block pushing levels.

Thoughts? Much like Nintendo went old-school for Mario 3D Land, I am betting that Zelda '3D Land' will attempt to directly pull the 2D gameplay into 3D worlds.

I'm not saying that Zelda 3DS will look EXACTLY like Crashmo, but I DO think it will have similarities with it (camera system, 3D tile-based maps, pushing blocks in 3D). I think the game will focus on smaller environments than those in previous 3D zeldas, but still be more '3D' than the DS titles, which were about as 3D gameplay-wise as A Link to the Past.

Also, this is focusing on the PROTOYPE levels, which are unlocked late in the game. I can see the treehouse and castle being laden with a few enemies, hookshot holds, etc.

Inteligent Systems made this. They have never made a Zelda game before. Why would they make prototypes for a Zelda game? The later levels could just be referances or something, i don't know i haven't seen them.

Rumor has it Nintendo has been working on the Wii U Zelda since 2010. I wouldn't be surprised if the 3ds Zelda was a second party developer like Intelligent Systems. Nintendo is a little more open with the portable versions.

IS is first party. Also i think they have two teams to work on Zelda, making PH and ST didn't seem to be a problem to make at the same time they were making SS.

Seriously ! I wish I could create some others puzzle like these in the workshop.
Too bad, it's just a few prototypes. Maybe in the next release...

I think this belongs in the "crazy theories I've had about certain video games" thread lol.

Currently playing: Fire Emblem: Awakening.
Current backlog: Ni No Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch (part way through) and the Unfinished Swan (unplayed).

Liberation Maiden is clearly a prototype for a new Bomberman game.
